Our students have written to Earth Dear Earth, I am sorry for all the damage we have caused you but I hope we can make a difference and undo some of this damage. We are hopeful that together this giant task is achievable sooner rather than later. Hopefully if we all come together and clear our beautiful, blue oceans and show your true beauty. From Sam W and Noah. Dear Earth, We would love to explore your lands, swim in your waters as most of your surface is covered in water and climb up your moun-tains. I want to splash in your waterfalls and float in your blue seas. You have a spine of rocky mountains. I want to slide down the desert dunes. I want to swing high up in the tree tops with all the wonderful creatures. I’d love to soar and swoop through the sky with the graceful, col-ourful birds. You are full of wonderful adventures. I wish every one saw how amazing you are. From Brooke and Montana Dear Earth, We are sorry that we hurt you now we are trying to help you heal and you clean out the water and the lands so you can survive if we all work together we are sorry for killing you and me want to make it up to you. We are going to protect you better then we have, we need to work harder to save habitats. From Samuel, Jayden and Michael.

Our Class Also Read “Dog Lost” Strong reliable cattle dog stood in the wild of the untamed land. As he glanced at cattle, he mustered the cattle and saw upon the rolling hills as a swirling storm began. The wind raged and the thunder boomed over the dusty plains, like a wild angry torrent the rain came down. The dog scrambled in fear, the wild river swept him away. Dog was sad, scared and confused as he wondered over the parched earth in search of his master. The clay like rocks with the ruby red coloured sky was guiding him home. When he saw the northern star. The tree leaves cracked liked a whip and dog thinks of home because he remembers his master cracking the whip. As dog dozes off to sleep the treacherous snake watches beyond the dog. Slowly the snake slithers and coils around the hidden branch and startles dog. Rapidly dog barks and snake slithers away. Nights are cold, so Dog digs a hole to keep himself warm. The soft breeze against dog’s nose makes dog twitch, as he dreams of home. Dog wandered alone as he sniffs the air looking for home. In the silence Dog’s heart was bursting as he hears the call of his master.

The soft breeze whispers a voice to him and his heart beats as fast as a cheetah, wildly Dog takes off, barking wildly and heads for home. By Daley Jennens

Even More of Our Sizzling Story Writing - “Dog Lost” Stories Down in the dusty plains lived a wandering dog. Who roamed the mustering land, his love of the land was unimaginable. But one evening without warning a vicious storm arose from the far. Swirling, turning, sweeping, surging water swept him away, from the land he knows. Scrambling up the slippery bank, Dog has cuts and marks all over him. Lost, alone, sad, cut, scared, Dog wanders past beckoning pools and jagged statues. Feeling sad, lonely and home sick. Laying in the dusty scrub a slithering, sneaky snake crept up on Dog. Ready to strike. Dog wakes barking wildly, snake slithers away. Suddenly a familiar voice comes from the distance. Alone, wondering in the scrubby bush, Dog suddenly hears a call. In the silence Dog hearts bursting with excitement, he bounded past rushing waterfalls and jagged rocks. Dog heads for home and is reunited with his master. By Brooke

Out in the dusty out back Dog loves to wander and chase the masters cattle. Dog is a black, brown and a little bit of blue cattle dog and Dog masters love of him is out of the wilderness. Out of nowhere the wind raged and lightning tore up the sky, thunder boomed as surging water swept him away he was swirling and turning in the angry torrent. Dog was sad, cold and hungry. Life was miserable as Dog wanders past jagged statues, rushing waterfalls and night creeps up and sky sparkles. Leaves rustle as a snake slithers ready to strike. Dog was asleep but in a split second Dog wakes up and snake is gone. Nights and days go by, birds watch and wait for him to die, so they can eat him. Life was bad! Dog wanders, next minute he hears a familiar voice so dog takes off, barking wildly and running wildly. As the soft breeze whispers it guided him home to the love of his master. By Montana

Days are hot and dry, nights are cold and snowy. Dog dreams of his dearly missed home as a snake slowly, quietly approaches as rivers flow, birds snuggle up together to stay warm in the harsh, freezing night. Within Dog’s dreams the wind whispers “wake up Dog!” and without a second thought he woke up and barked at the snake and it retreated. As Dog sobs unbearably he wanders the luscious, green land heart broken. But in the unbearable silence he hears someone call his name and sprints after the somewhat familiar voice. By Sam W

In the dusty glooms a cattle dog loved helping his master and leading the herd of cattle through the wildness until one night a strong cyclone hit. The rushing flood waters flushed him away as lightning dashed across the land and thunder crashed. Frantically Dog swam as fast as he could and he struggled to get up the slippery riverbank. His eyes sparkled like jewels as he tried his last time to scramble up. Suddenly he just made it. The hot dry sun went away the sky sparkles and turns evil black, with a strike the trees waved wildly and swept him away through the rushing blue, carpet of waterfall. Lucky he lands and be-gins walking across a gigantic land of dryness. Silently he sleeps in the day and out of nowhere snake slithers and sticks out his slivery wet tongue to feel fresh air. Snake climbed up the wood-en tree but Dog does not hear as snake get closer. In a blink of an eye Dog wakes and barks, snake retreats. The days nights are hot and cold, Dog was tired but he couldn’t give up. The nights are difficult, trees whisper through the air scared, days are hot and Dog gets nervous, sad and thirsty. Dog see birds that look hungry of all kinds. Dog is sad and alone. He is tired as his heart tells him something. It was a voice saying this way to get home. He hears the call of a voice that sounds familiar as he sniffs the air. The soft breeze whispers as Dog takes of barking wildly as his heart beats and he heads for home. By Michael
