Overview

UPM Formi 3D is a cellulose fibre reinforced plastic composite, designed especially for 3D printing. Light colours, a natural touch, fine details and good processability are all achieved with UPM Formi 3D. This document contains co-branding guidelines for UPM Formi 3D, including instructions for the use of logos and product names. The vertical version is the main version of the combination. The proportion of the elements is fixed and should not be changed. The colour of the product name is always black. The Biofore logo is always green and black.

The space between the product name and the Biofore logo equals the height of the product name.

The product name and the Biofore logo should always appear within a clear space (exclusion zone). No other visual elements (graphic, photographic or textual) are allowed within the exclusion zone. The clear space ensures maximum legibility and impact. The clear space is included in the original files.

The minimum height for the clear space is 29,3 mm (0.39”) or 90 pixels.

The vertical version of the product name is used only when the horizontal version cannot be used. It is designed specifically for square formats.

Only if the height of the space is smaller than 29,3 mm (0.12” or 90 pixels), can the tagline be left out.

The minimum width of the UPM logo is 10 mm (0.39”) or 30 pixels. In sizes smaller than the minimum, use the product name without the company logo or the Biofore logo. The typeface for UPM is Futura Std Medium, as well as the typeface for Formi 3D.

The combination of the product name and the Biofore logo is used whenever it is not possible or reasonable to use the boilerplate (see page 1.2.). The product name is used alone only if there is not enough space for the combination.

The boilerplate combines the tagline, the logo and the key image. There are several alternative compositions. The boilerplate originals include trimming allowances for applications where the boilerplate is located either at the left or right margin.

You’ll find an alignment mark in the lower margin of the original files to help you determine the exact placement.

The minimum height for the boilerplate is 27,5 mm (1,08”). The minimum height on web or other digital solutions is 85 pixels.

The boilerplates are scalable in size. To make sure that the legibility of the text is not compromised, never use a size smaller than the minimum depicted on this page.

The tagline font is always Futura Std Heavy for word “Naturally” and Futura Std Medium for “perfect prints”. Also the product name “UPM Formi 3D” is written in Futura Std Medium.

The boilerplate with the key message is always the primary choice for all marketing materials and packaging solutions. The boilerplate attracts attention and sends a stronger message than the product logo on its own. The boilerplate communicates disctinctly what UPM Formi 3D stands for.

The boilerplate can also be used in online applications, but for specific web banners use the design principles shown here. The key elements of the web banners are white space, the cut-out UPM Formi 3D key image, the Biofore logo, the tagline and UPM Formi 3D product logo. The Biofore logo is positioned on the top of the vertical banner and on the right side of the horisontal banner.

On horizontal web banners, the Biofore logo is centered on the top. The tagline and UPM Formi 3D logos are also centered.
