Our words only have power if those words are backed up with concrete and visible choices, priorities, and relationships. Do our lives “speak” faithfully of the Kin-dom? We are called to follow the words and way of Jesus: to love God and love each other—that is what it means to be a disciple. How do we do it? Our Wesleyan tradition gives us a map for the journey, spiritual practices to help us grow in love of God and neighbor. Confession and PardonMerciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Hear the good news, Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! Glory to God. Amen.

The Great Thanksgiving Ginger E. Gaines-Cirelli & Ben Roberts

The Lord be with you.And also with you.Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.It is right to give our thanks and praise....And all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join in their unending hymn, saying:Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest....And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving, as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith, saying:Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Discipleship Ministries Classes

Healing the Heart of Democracy is held on Sundays at 10:10 AM in Room 208. Alongside others, you’re invited to explore what we can do in everyday settings like families, neighborhoods, classrooms, con-gregations and workplaces to resist divide-and-conquer politics and restore a government “of the people, by the people, for the people.” Books are available for purchase in class for $12. Limited copies are also available on loan from Foundry’s Library.

Foundry’s newest, long-term Sunday School class Kaleidoscope, begins Sundays in March at 10:10 AM. Kaleidoscope, a lecture and discussion-based adult class, will provide a forum for conversation, connection, and reflection on key issues facing the life of a modern disciple, as well as build and strengthen relationships between class members. Our organizational meeting will be on March 5, with our first series, led by Dr. Sathianathan Clark focusing on ways we can be “passionately Christian and compassionately interfaith.” For more information, please email Pastor Will at [email protected].

Crafters, creators, and creatives are invited to join “The Maker’s Circle,” a new Sunday morning group who, through exercising their creative gifts of crafting, knitting and making, will both create items to enrich ministry at Foundry Church and create relationships through study, reflection and prayer to strengthen them in their journey of discipleship. The Maker’s Circle will meet Sundays starting on March 5, from 10:10 - 11:05 AM in Room B1. For more information, email Kerry Kidwell-Slack and Nancy Groth at [email protected].

Join Rev. Theresa Thames, one of Foundry’s own, at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, March 29, for a presentation of her doctoral work. “Standing in the Intersections” uses the Biblical narratives of Old Testament women to create a curriculum for equipping, resourcing, and mentoring young clergywomen of color to thrive in ministry. This informative session will explore the intersectionality of race, gender, age, theology and Biblical exegesis. Registration is available online via the event posting at foundryumc.org/calendar.

Options for our Little Wigglers!

Children and youth are invited to attend church services with their families. During worship services, wiggle bags and children’s worship bulletins are available. Wiggle bags contain crayons and coloring activ-ity sheets. The children’s worship bulletin reinforces the Sunday School lesson for the week.

Alternatively, several options for children during the services are listed below. Please notice the age range appropriate for each option.

Childcare: Children from birth through age 3 may receive childcare in the Childcare Center from 8:00 AM - 2:15 PM. Foundry’s Childcare is provided by well-qualified, paid staff and loving servant leaders. Adults must bring children to this room and pick them up after service.

Wiggle Space: This space located in the main-level fellowship hall is available on Sunday. This space contains a book cart, rug for chil-dren to crawl on, video monitors and audio of the worship service, bev-erage service, and space for adults to interact with children. Because this is not a controlled space, adults are required to supervise their children. Unsupervised children will be directed back to their adults and not allowed to stay in this space.

Wiggle Room: This offering provided in room 206 from 9:15 - 10:00 AM & 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM is for children ages 4 – 10 years old whose adults would like to be in the worship service. Supervision is provided by background-checked, adult servant leaders. Adults must bring children to this room and pick them up.

Children’s Choir: This activity in room B-1 from 9:15 - 10:00 AM is held on the first, third, fourth, and fifth Sundays of the month for first through fifth grade children. Adults must bring children to this room and pick them up.
