As a result of economic growth in the form of new construction and
increased property values, Dripping Springs ISD plans to finance this bond
using the current tax rate.
The bond package for the May 5 election was developed
with the input of many stakeholders, including staff,
parents and community members who participated in
the long-range facility planning process from October
2017 to January 2018.
Actual tax bills are the product of the tax rate and the appraised property value.

FAQ’S (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)
ABOUT SERVING AS A PTA BOARD MEMBER
Who can serve?
Anyone who will be a member of the Rooster Springs PTA for 2018-2019 can serve as an officer. Good candidates for PTA
officers are adults who have a willingness to learn what the PTA's purposes and policies are and to follow them, participate in
leadership training programs, delegate and take responsibility where necessary and be willing to commit the time necessary.
What is required financially of a PTA officer?
• The only financial requirement is that all officers are required to be a PTA member. Membership dues are $10 per year.
• What about training costs? On-line training materials and in-person workshops are available at no cost to the volunteer.
• What about purchasing the items needed for the activities of a particular office? Officers are not expected to incur any out-
of-pocket expenses because they follow the PTA budget and work within a budgeted amount. Materials and supplies used
during your volunteer service are approved expenses in the PTA budget and you will know ahead of time what that
approved amount is!

Dear Supporter,
Thank you for your interest in supporting the Dripping Springs Education Foundation. Since
the Foundation was formed in 1992, we have worked closely with the Dripping Springs
Independent School District (DSISD) to provide more than $1,000,000 in the form of teacher
grants, students grants and other programs in support of classroom enrichment, teaching
innovations, student leadership and community outreach.
In the 2016-2017 school year, the Dripping Springs Education Foundation awarded $110,000 in
Innovative Teaching Grants and $30,000 in Student Leadership Grants, as well as $6,400 from
the Nick LeFevre Community Youth Fund.
With recent cuts in state funding for DSISD and the continued growth in the Dripping Springs
community, our mission to support academic goals and achievement at every school in the
district has become even more critical. In fact, we seek to establish a reliable private-funding
mechanism to help bridge the gap, foster teacher and student excellence and ensure the
District maintains academic competitiveness regardless of state funding levels.
Today I am asking for your support to “Reach Higher and Inspire” in 2018 by sponsoring the
Dripping Springs Education Foundation’s 2018 Denim & Diamonds Gala being held at Dripping
Springs Ranch Park on April 20.
With your support, we can continue to fund our amazing Innovative Teaching Grants , Student
Leadership Grants and other Dripping Springs ISD priorities.
Sincerely,
Max Hunsicker
President
