LEGACY SOCIETY

“Great works are often quiet works.” Father James Martin, SJ

(from The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything: Spirituality for Real Life)

You can perform a great work simply by remembering the Mount Saint Peter Parish Endowment Fund in your will or estate planning. Although this is a quiet and unobtrusive deed, it is a work that loudly resonates with and replicates the generosity, vision and love of our ancestors and strengthens the future of our church and its mission. For the next step, please see the information on the Legacy Society link on the parish website or feel free to speak with any member of the Legacy Society Committee. DIOCESAN LENTEN APPEAL A sincere thank you to all who have responded to this year’s Diocesan Lenten Appeal. Your support of the parish and diocese has been awesome! To date, the total in pledges and gifts is $57,779, with only 12% of our parish responding. If you didn’t have an opportunity to respond, please complete the pledge card that was mailed to you and return either at Mass next weekend or to the Parish Office. For your convenience, online pledges and gifts can be made at DLA.dioceseofgreensburg.org. Pledge cards are also available the Parish Office. HARVEST FOR HAITI NEXT WEEK Our monthly collection for our sisters and brothers in Haiti will be taken after all Masses next weekend April 8/9. Proceeds benefit Rich in Mercy used for educational scholarships to children from Solino. SOUP FOR THE SOUL The Soup for the Soul Ministry wants to remind all parishioners if they had a family member discharged from a hospital or nursing home recently and would like to get soup delivered, please call Verlene Stonis at 724-337-4823.

WITH THE MOUNT SAINT PETER CHOIR

The Easter Triduum

The Triduum is the Church’s endless reflection on a way of life that leads through the cross to the Resurrection. You are invited to come to the liturgies on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. HOLY THURSDAY - April 13 Celebrate the joy of ministry that is the fabric of service to others. In the washing of the feet we come to a profound humility rooted in the example of Christ. On this same Holy Thursday night, we celebrate the arrival of the Holy Oils to our community: the Oil of Chrism, the Oil of the Sick and the Oil of Catechumens.

GOOD FRIDAY – April 14 Celebrate the ultimate mystery of the triumph of the cross. Unite your sufferings and those of the world with the Lord of the Cross. Venerate the cross, our sign of victory beyond pain and death. Good Friday is the birth of hope and peace. THE EASTER VIGIL - April 15 Gather around the Easter bonfire as we proclaim Christ is our Light! Recall the history of salvation in Word and song. Relive new life given in the waters of Baptism. Welcome new Christians and join us in the proclamation of the Resurrection and the refreshment of the Eucharist. Plan to be here for this liturgy, the highpoint of the liturgical year!
