Systems OperationDescription, Flight Modes & Human resources
The system is capable to perform continuous missions, 7 days a week, 24-hour a
day. The UAV standard endurance per mission (depends on the flight profile, the
winds, payload installed and other variables).
1 UAV and 2 control stations are required. While one UAV is in the air, the other
UAV is prepared for the next mission. When the first UAV battery reaches to its
bottom limit, the second UAV replaces it above the target, and the first UAV is
returned to the lunching site to be prepared for the next mission (the third is areserved unit).
The Pegasus 250 System can autonomously perform a pre-programmed flight
mission. In addition, the operator can change the mission during flight.
The system is operated by a crew of 2 persons, with the following tasks
assignments:
Mission Commander: The mission commander is responsible for the mission execution,
mission safety and the communication with external factors. The mission commander is
also in charge of hand launching.
Field Pilot: The field pilot operates the control station in all mission phases (ground
checks, mission planning, flight, navigation, etc.) and is also in charge of payload
operation, communication with the intelligence customer and images interpretation.

Pegasus 250 UAV Description
Air Vehicle
The Pegasus 250 is a Back Packed Tactical Unmanned Air Vehicle. The air vehicle
consists of a fuselage, telescopic boom and tail assembly, high wing on a pylon and a
specially developed electric engine and avionic systems. The Pegasus 250 is equipped
with inflated landing gear (Patented). The Pegasus 250 carries the payload installed in
the nose of the fuselage.
Other sub-systems installed inside the fuselage are: Batteries
Avionics package including all flight sensors and servo actuators
Communication system, composed of uplink as well as downlink
Electro-optical payload
Electrical power supplyPerformances
The Pegasus 250 performances are as follows: (Performances Parameter Specification)
Stall speed. 18 kts & Cruise speed 50 kts
Rate of climb > 700 f/min & Service ceiling. 8,000 Ft
Endurance in cruise speed > 2.5 hrs & Glide rate (no wind) 1:25

Auto pilot System
The Auto pilot controls all the Pegasus 250 capabilities. The Auto pilot is based on powerful
purpose built processors equipped with serial communication port, and 8 PWM ports (for
servo). It has a built in flash memory to handle the operating system as well as the
applications. The Auto pilot performs all traditional functions such as flight control, mission
control, payload operation and data link management.
In addition to the computing elements, the Auto pilot contains solid-state airspeed and
altitude sensors, and a Global Positioning System (GPS). The following paragraphs provide a
brief description of the Auto pilot main functions, interfaces and flight sensors.Auto pilot Main Functions
The Auto pilot main functions
Flight control & stabilization Controls and stabilizes the Pegasus 250 in the 3 axis
Mission control Enables pre-programmed autonomous navigation by GPS and in-flight reprogramming
Payload control Normal operating mode in rate and position for the gimbals
System logic Enables emergency landing sequence
Data-link managementHandling and arranging the down-link and up-link messages
Auto pilot Interfaces
The Auto pilot is provided with the following input/output interfaces:
Servo actuators 8 PDM (PWM) Ports
Data linkuplink, downlink, Serial port RS 232

Aerial Data-link system
The data-link sub-system is responsible for the communication between the
ground stations and the UAV. The link between the ground stations and the UAV iscomposed of uplink channel through which the commands to the UAV and payload
are transmitted, and a downlink channel for video and telemetry data
transmission from the UAV to the ground stations. The data-link controller is a part
of the Auto pilot avionics and no additional control hardware or software is
required. The data-link controller handles all uplink and downlink messages. The
interfaces between the data-link components and the Auto pilot are accomplished
through especially developed ports.
The Pegasus 250 aerial data-link system is comprised of the following
subassemblies:
Video transmitter
Command & telemetry transceiver
Omni directional antennas: Telemetry Antenna & L Band Antenna

MCS - Mission Control Station
The Mission Control Station (MCS) is state of the art, universal unit designed to
operate Mini UAV platforms. It's based on advanced real time software. The MCSprimary function is to control and monitor UAV operation and its payload. Other
functions are: mission planning, pre-flight and post-flight maintenance procedures
and more. The MCS is communicating with the UAV through the Ground Data
Terminal (GDT). It transmits commands to the UAV, and receives telemetry
information as well as real time video images.
