Dear UNI Colleagues and Career Services Supporters: The University of Northern Iowa Career Services office is pleased to publish the results of our 2007‐2008 Graduate Report. The Graduate Report includes data on student’s employment and continuing education status, salary information and state of residence. It also includes numbers of internships, names of employers who hired UNI graduates, organizations who came to campus and a broad array of information on our departmental activities. Occupied, Not Seeking The post‐graduation plans of UNI students is diverse and exciting. At UNI, the classification of “Occupied, Not Seeking” means that the graduate has secured employment or other career opportunities and is no longer seeking, or is continuing their education. For 2007‐2008, 73% of UNI graduates are employed, starting a business, or other employment plans and 12% have enrolled in gradu‐ate and professional programs. The rate of 85% is a 12% increase over the previous year.
Occupied in Iowa: Fields of Opportunity The Board of Regents for the State of Iowa has a very simple goal. They envision that “Every day, the quality of life in Iowa is enhanced by the educational opportunities, research and scholarship, and service of the state’s three public universities.” The University of Northern Iowa is proud to improve the workforce in the State of Iowa with the talented professionals we graduate. After graduating from UNI, 77% of students who were employed stayed in Iowa , and for those who chose to continue their education, 63% stayed in Iowa.
