1 UMD 2014-15 Graduate Follow-up Report

Bachelors Highlights of the Class The data for this report were collected through Internet, e-mail, and telephone surveys, and by using social media. Staff from the office of Career and Internship Services surveyed alumni who received undergraduate degrees from UMD between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015. This report is based on responses from 1715 undergraduates (90% of the reported 1901 undergraduate students granted degrees during the time frame). Of the 1715, 1656 (97%) reported "employed" or "continuing education,"

• 1451 (85%) reported "employed," • 205 (12%) reported "continuing education."

777 (49%) of 1582 respondents indicated they had completed an internship or co-op experience. Of those who completed an internship or co-op experience,

• 400 (57%) of 697 respondents reported they received academic credit for their internship or co-op, • 288 (41%) of 705 respondents reported receiving an offer of employment from the internship or co-op site, • 161 (56%) of 288 respondents accepted the offer.

261 (17%) of 1555 respondents indicated they had participated in a study abroad program. Of the 1451 employed, 1440 (99%) responded to a question about the relevance of their jobs to their majors, with 1254 (87%) reporting employment "related" or "somewhat related" to major,

• 940 (65%) reported employment "related" to major, • 314 (22%) reported employment "somewhat related" to major.

Of the 1451 employed, 1443 respondents indicated in which state they were employed and, of those, 1200 (83%) reported accepting employment in Minnesota. Of the 1715, 50 (3%) reported they were still seeking employment.

Masters and Doctorates Highlights of the Class The data for this report were collected through Internet, e-mail, and telephone surveys, and by using social media. Staff from the office of Career and Internship Services surveyed alumni who received graduate degrees (Masters and Doctorates) from UMD between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015. This report is based on responses from 232 graduates (91% of the reported 256 graduate students granted graduate degrees during the time frame). Of the 232, 225 (97%) reported "employed" or "continuing education,"

• 205 (88%) reported "employed," • 20 (9%) reported "continuing education."

Of the 205 employed, 205 (100%) responded to a question about the relevance of their jobs to their majors, with 190 (92%) reporting employment "related" or "somewhat related" to major,

• 165 (80%) reported employment "related" to major, • 24 (12%) reported employment "somewhat related" to major.

Of the 205 employed, 205 respondents indicated in which state they were employed and, of those, 145 (71%) reported accepting employment in Minnesota. Of the 232, 2 (1%) reported they were still seeking employment.
