Introduction Each year, the University of Lincoln award a number of merit-based scholarships to high-achieving students from around the world. For programmes commencing in 2020, prospective students are invited to apply for one of the following University of Lincoln based International Scholarships:
• Hold an offer of study for an eligible University of Lincoln course• Be classed as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes• Be expecting to, or have already met, the academic and English language requirements for
the scholarship you are intending to apply for• Fully complete the enclosed scholarship application form, and submit this by 4pm (UK time)
by one of the deadlines specified on our website

The Selection Process The University of Lincoln’s merit based international scholarships are competitive, and will be awarded to candidates who meet / exceed the scholarship criteria listed on our website.
Upon close of the scholarship deadline, the University will assess each scholarship application carefully, and will endeavour to notify all candidates of a decision on or prior to 10 working days of the application closing date for the above International Scholarships with the exception of the Lincoln 50% Scholarship which will be within 10 working days of the application closing date.
For students who require a visa to study in the UK, we strongly advise that you wait for the outcome of your scholarship application prior to submitting your CAS request.
In the event that your scholarship application is unsuccessful, the University may award you an alternative scholarship at its discretion.
Awarding of Scholarships Successful candidates will be notified by email with detailed information regarding the scholarship award, and any subsequent acceptance/deposit payment deadlines. Please note that scholarships are offered as a tuition fee reduction, and are only applicable for one year of study.
Additional Information Students who are sponsored (in full or part) by a charitable body, employer or government are not eligible to apply for a University of Lincoln International Scholarship. This question should only be completed if you are applying for a 50% Global Scholarship
You are required to write a 200 word statement which demonstrates your aspirations and how your studies at the University of Lincoln will help you to achieve these. As part of your answer, you may wish to consider the following topics:
• Your career aspirations and ambitions for the future• What motivates you to succeed• Key reasons why you have chosen to study at the University of Lincoln, and how your
studies will help you to work towards meeting your ambitions

I also confirm that I am not in receipt of a Government scholarship, or employer/organisational sponsored funding (in full or part).
I confirm I am a self-funded student and if I am successful in securing funding from a third party such as government employer or charitable body, I acknowledge that I am no longer eligible to receive a University of Lincoln Scholarship.

1. For the purposes of this document, the following definitions shall apply:

Definition of ‘International Student’ An international fee paying student with overseas fee status.
Definition of ‘Programme of Study’
A University of Lincoln Arts or Science Foundation Programme, Undergraduate or
Postgraduate Programme of Study leading to an award of the University
Definition of Global Scholarships: The following University of Lincoln International Scholarships will collectively be referred to as
'Global Scholarships' and are valued at £2,000 each.
• Global Undergraduate Scholarship
• Global Postgraduate Scholarship
• Top-up Scholarship

Global Scholarships will automatically be awarded to International Students who have
received an offer of study, and have met the necessary entry requirements for their intended
Programme of Study.
For the Top-up Scholarship, the International Student must be enrolling directly onto the
second or third year of a Programme of Study. This Scholarship is only applicable at the year
of entry.
Definition of an International Alumni Scholarship:
The International Alumni Scholarship is valued at £2,000 and in order to be eligible, the International Student must have successfully completed a University of Lincoln Programme of
Study delivered in the United Kingdom, or at an approved provider overseas.
Definition of Country or Regional Scholarship: The following University of Lincoln International Scholarships will collectively be referred to as
‘Country or Regional Scholarships’ and are valued at £5,000 each. To be eligible for the
scholarship, the International Student must hold a recognised Bachelor degree with a minimum grade of 2:2 or equivalent.

(a) Country or Regional Scholarships are not automatically awarded, and are subject to
receiving an offer of study, meeting the relevant University of Lincoln International
Scholarship criteria as specified on our website, submitting a University of Lincoln
International Scholarship Application Form, and successfully being awarded the
scholarship.
(b) At the discretion of the University of Lincoln, a Country or Regional Scholarship may
conditionally be awarded to an International Student (irrespective of having received
an offer of study) following a scholarship interview. This is subject to meeting the
necessary entry requirements for the intended Programme of Study and the relevant
Country or Regional Scholarship criteria.
1.6 Definition of Lincoln 50% Global Scholarship
The Lincoln 50% Global Scholarship is valued at 50% of tuition fees for one year of study.
(a) For the Undergraduate scholarship, the International Student must meet the following
criteria (or equivalent):
• A Level grades BBB or above
• 30 International Baccalaureate (IB) points or above
• Completion of an International Foundation Pathway programme at 60% or
above
International Students will be required to meet the English language entry
requirement for the intended Programme of Study.
(b) For the Postgraduate scholarship, the International Student must hold a recognised
Bachelor's degree with a minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent, and meet the
English language requirement for the intended Programme of Study.
(c) This Scholarship is not automatically awarded, and is subject to receiving an
Unconditional offer of study, meeting the relevant University of Lincoln International
Scholarship criteria as specified on our website, submitting a University of Lincoln
International Scholarship Application Form, and successfully being awarded the
scholarship.
(d) At the discretion of the University of Lincoln, a Lincoln 50% Global Scholarship may
conditionally be awarded to an International Student (irrespective of having received
an Unconditional offer of study) following a scholarship interview. This is subject to
meeting the necessary entry requirements for the intended Programme of Study
and the Lincoln 50% Global Scholarship criteria.
(e) International Students who are unsuccessful in obtaining a Lincoln 50% Global
Scholarship may be awarded an alternative Country or Regional Scholarship (where
applicable), at the discretion of the University of Lincoln’s Director of International.
(f) Applicants who have been awarded a Lincoln 50% Scholarship must choose to
accept or decline the scholarship award, and pay a CAS deposit, by the dates given
in the award confirmation email.
2. General Terms and Conditions:
2.1 University of Lincoln International Scholarships take the form of a tuition fee reduction upon
enrolment. No cash alternative is available.

University of Lincoln International Scholarships are non-transferable and are not valid in
conjunction with each other; only one Scholarship per student per Programme of Study will be
applied. University of Lincoln International Scholarships will only be applied during the first
year of enrolment; scholarships will not be applied to any subsequent years of study.
International students who are in receipt of a tuition fee discount are not eligible to receive a University of Lincoln International Scholarship.
The University of Lincoln reserves the right to amend or withdraw any University of Lincoln International Scholarship at any point and without notice.

International Students who are sponsored (in full or part) by a charitable body, employer or
government are not eligible to apply for a University of Lincoln International Scholarship.
International Students enrolled onto a University of Lincoln Distance Learning Programme are
not eligible to receive a University of Lincoln International Scholarship.
International Students progressing from the University of Lincoln International Study Centre
are not eligible to receive University of Lincoln International Scholarships.
All University of Lincoln International Scholarship decisions made by the University of Lincoln
are final.
Deadlines:
Applications for Country or Regional Scholarships and Lincoln 50% Global Scholarships must
be received by 4pm (UK time) on one of the following application rounds:
For a Programme of Study commencing in September/October 2020
Round 1: Saturday 25th April 2020
Round 2: Thursday 25th June 2020
Round 3: Friday 7th August 2020
For a Programme of Study commencing in January/February 2021
Round 1: Friday 2nd October 2020 Round 2: Friday 13th November 2020
Country or Regional Scholarships or Lincoln 50% Global Scholarship applications received
after the 4pm (UK time) deadline will be considered at the next applicable application round.
Applications received after the final scholarship deadline may be considered at the discretion
of the University of Lincoln’s Director of International.
The University of Lincoln endeavour to notify all Country or Regional Scholarship and Lincoln
50% Global Scholarship applicants of a scholarship decision via email prior to the deadline, or within 10 working days following the specified closing date.
