ATHLETE REGISTRATION Registration for the meet will take place at www.directathletics.com. Deadline for registration is 12:00 p.m. (CT) Monday, January 14th. Accepted entries will be posted on www.hawkeyesports.com by 5:00 p.m. (CT) Tuesday, January 15th. There is no entry fee. Open to non-collegiate competitors; contact Kate Wakenight at [email protected] prior to entry deadline for approval.
AWARDS PRESENTATION A brief awards presentation will take place immediately after the conclusion of the men’s 4x400m Relay Premier to recognize the first place team for each gender on Saturday. Each team will also be asked to vote on the overall “Athlete of the Meet” for each gender in the field events and the running events. Please turn in the completed ballot to the clerking area in the northwest corner of the Indoor Track Facility before the women’s 4x400m Relay.
COACHES’ MEETING The coaches’ meeting will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in the northeast corner of the Indoor Track Facility. We ask that a representative from each team be present at that time.

2019 TEAM GUIDE EVENT CHECK-IN // STAGING
FIELD EVENTS: • CHECK-IN: Check-in for all field events takes place at the event site before the Indoor Football Practice
Facility (IPF) is open. After 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, field event competitors are to complete warm-ups inside the IPF. When called, competitors will report to the staging area inside the IPF and wait to be escorted over to the Indoor Track Facility. For a diagram of the IPF, please see page 8.
RUNNING EVENTS: • 60M // 60M HURDLES // 200M: Competitors entered in the 60m, 60m hurdles, and 200m are invited to
complete their warm-up on the infield of the track about 30 minutes prior to event. Specific times are listed on the schedule of events. However, prior to warming up on the infield, all competitors must report to the staging area inside the Indoor Football Practice Facility when called (about 50 minutes prior to event) to be escorted over to the Indoor Track Facility. Competitors warming up on the infield will be asked to exit the track and stage with their heat in the northeast corner of the facility five (5) minutes before their event.
• EVENTS 400M AND OVER: For all other running events, competitors are to report to the staging area inside the Indoor Football Practice Facility when called (roughly 30 minutes prior to event). From there, each heat will be escorted to the Indoor Track Facility. Once checked in, competitors will be able to complete a 15-20 minute final warm-up on the far east side of the track.
• CHECK-IN // STAGING: Competitors must check-in at the clerking area in the northeast corner of the Indoor Track Facility to receive hip numbers. Heats will be escorted individually onto the competition track. All warm-up apparel must be off prior to stepping onto the track. After each race, competitors must exit the track on the southwest side and head to the "athlete checkout" area to pick-up their apparel. Please refer to the diagrams on pages 7 and 8.
HOSPITALITY
COACHES’ HOSPITALITY: Complimentary hospitality for all coaches will be available on the south balcony, inside the Indoor Track Facility. Coaches must have their credential on to access the hospitality area. Please refer to the diagram on page 7.
STUDENT-ATHLETE HOSPITALITY: An area designated for student-athlete hospitality will be in the lower level of the Jacobson Building which is connected to the north end of the Indoor Track Facility. Please refer to the diagram on page 9.Outside of specific contracted meals, each team is responsible for providing their own team meals.
*FOOD DELIVERIES: Food vendors are to drop-off team meals at the team entrance, east of the Indoor Track Facility. To ensure access, all food vendors must have been listed on the “Team Travel Form” (page 12). Vendors must be escorted to team’s student-athlete hospitality room.
IMPLEMENT INSPECTION Implements must be inspected prior to competition on both Friday and Saturday. An official will be available for inspection 90 minutes prior to the start of each throwing event at the event site location.
MEDIA // RESULTS Meet results will be available on www.hawkeyesports.com. Live scoring will also be available at www.hawkeyesports.com/tracklive. Results will be posted on the north wall inside the Indoor Track Facility and at the Indoor Football Practice Facility. Following the meet, complete results are available for pick-up at the timing booth on the south balcony of the Indoor Track Facility. To receive results via fax or email, please contact Hannah Ossman at 319-335-9411. Please refer to the diagrams on pages 7 and 8.

An area designated for medical care will be in both the north side of the Indoor Track Facility and inside the Indoor Football Practice Facility (IPF) (see pages 7 and 8). When the IPF is not open, an additional Athletic Training Facility is available on the lower level of the Jacobson Building (near the team hospitality area, follow the directional signage to this Athletic Training Facility). Please see the diagram on page 9. Athletic Training will be available on both days, beginning two (2) hours before competition. An ambulance will arrive one (1) hour prior to competition. If medical care is needed prior to Thursday, or if there are any questions, please contact Doug West at 319-530-5173. For more information, please refer to the visitor’s letter on www.hawkeyesports.com, under the “Fans” tab.
PARKING Once team buses and passenger vehicles are unloaded, they must relocate to the designated parking location as space is limited within the drop-off area. The drop-off area is only for vehicles that are actively unloading or loading. To receive proper parking passes, please include team transportation information (i.e. type and quantity) on the “Team Travel Form” (page 12). For more information on team drop-off and entrances, please see pages 6 and 11.
• TEAM BUSES: Due to limited parking availability around the Indoor Track Facility, team buses are to park out at the Hall of Fame Parking Lot (Lot 71). To access Lot 71 from the team drop-off area, head south on Lot 43N Drive, toward Kinnick Stadium. Turn right onto Evashevski Drive and then take a right onto Melrose Avenue. At the third stoplight on Melrose Avenue, turn right onto Mormon Trek Boulevard. Take the next left onto Prairie Meadow Drive. Parking Lot 71 will be located on the left. Please see the diagram on page 11 for more information. GPS ADDRESS: Lot 71, Iowa City, Iowa 52246.
o WEIGHT THROW FACILITY PARKING: Team buses will need to park at Lot 71 for the Weight Throw competition inside the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex (HTRC) as well. For directions and facility information, please see page 11.
• TEAM PASSENGER VEHICLES: An area will be designated for team passenger vehicles that are indicated on the “Team Travel Form” (page 12). Passenger vehicles are to park at a hooded meter within Lot 43NW. To access Lot 43NW from the team drop-off area, head south on Lot 43N Drive, toward Kinnick Stadium. Turn right onto Evashevski Drive and then take an immediate right into Lot 43NW, the hooded meters will be directly east of the Indoor Track Facility, near the northwest team entrance. Please see diagram on page 10 for more information. A specific parking pass will be provided in the team packet as it will be required to gain access to the designated parking space.
o WEIGHT THROW FACILITY PARKING: For the Weight Throw competition, passenger vehicle parking is available in the Student Lot, directly east of the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex (HTRC). A separate parking placard will be required to park in the Student Lot without getting a ticket. To receive proper parking passes for the HTRC, please indicate what type of transportation your team will use on Friday for the Weight Throw competition on the “Team Travel Form” (page 12). For directions and facility information, please see page 11.
PRACTICE
The Indoor Track Facility is open for practice from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. Practice is also available on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Please indicate what type of transportation your team will use for practice on the “Team Travel Form” (page 12). Please see diagram on page 10 for parking information.
RELAY PREMIER INTRODUCTION SONG Teams entered in the two (2) 4x400m Relay Premier heats on Saturday have an opportunity to choose the song they want to be introduced to. Songs that contain foul language or inappropriate references will not be allowed. To request a song, please list the name of the desired song and artist on the “Team Travel Form” (page 12). To ensure songs are appropriate and properly cued, the deadline to request a song is Monday, January 14th. Teams will not be allowed to request introduction songs on-site.

SPIKE CHECK // RESTRICTIONS Student-athletes are allowed to wear Christmas tree, pyramid, or Omni-Light spike pins that are no longer than ¼” (6.4mm). Permanent spikes are allowed only if they are pyramids. Needle spikes are NOT allowed. Pyramid spike pins that are no longer than 3/8” are allowed for the High Jump events. Spike check for all field events takes place at the event site. Spikes are allowed on the designated rubber warm-up lanes inside the Indoor Football Practice Facility but not allowed on the turf surface. Student-athletes will not be allowed to participate without a tag on their shoes.
SPIKE INSPECTION TIMES: • Friday, January 18th – 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Indoor Football Practice Facility. • Saturday, January 19th – 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Indoor Football Practice Facility.
TEAM CAMPS // WARM-UP AREAS All team camps and warm-up areas will be in the Indoor Football Practice Facility (IPF) starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. All warm-ups must be done inside the IPF. Please see the facility diagram on page 8 for more information. Credentials and wristbands are required for entry into this area. The designated entrance to the warm-up facility is on the northeast side of the IPF, across Lot 43NW from the northwest Indoor Track Facility doors. Please refer to the diagram on page 10 for access information. Food is not allowed inside the Indoor Football Practice Facility.
TEAM DROP-OFF // ENTRANCE Team vehicles are to drop-off in reserved parking stalls, just off to the west side of Lot 43N Drive. The bus loading and unloading zone is located on the east side of the Indoor Track Facility, between Lot 43N Drive and the facility. Team vehicles must pull into the empty car stalls and off of the street, please do not drop-off on the street. Once dropped off, teams will enter into the lower level of the Jacobson Building through the loading dock glass doors. For more information, please refer to the diagram on page 10.
• POLE VAULT EQUIPMENT: For your convenience, a separate entrance will be available to access the track with Pole Vault equipment. Equipment may be dropped off during practice on Thursday. Due to the Shot Put set-up, this specific entrance will not be available on Saturday. This entrance is located outside the southeast corner of the facility. Please refer to the diagram on page 10.
• PACKET PICK-UP: Coaches may check-in and pick-up packets upon arrival inside the team entrance located on the east side of the Jacobson Building. Please refer to the diagram on page 10.
WEIGHT THROW COMPETITION The Weight Throw competition will be held at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex (HTRC) at 2:00 p.m. (men) and 4:00 p.m. (women) on Friday. Implement inspection will be available at the event site starting at 12:30 p.m. To receive proper parking passes for the HTRC, please indicate what type of transportation your team will use Friday on the “Team Travel Form” (page 12). For directions and parking information, please see page 11.
WRISTBANDS // CREDENTIALS Student-athletes will be provided wristbands and coaches and team staff will receive credentials. Wristbands and credentials must be worn at all times to gain access to the Indoor Football Practice Facility, Indoor Track Facility and the student-athlete hospitality area. Each team will be provided one (1) specific field event credential that will allow access to specific coaches’ boxes during the corresponding event. Head Coaches and Directors of each team will receive one (1) “All Access” credential. The “All Access” credential allows the individual to access the track at any time. Coaches and team staff members without an “All Access” credential are asked to stay off of the track. To receive proper credentials and wristbands, please complete the right column of the “Team Travel Form” (page 12).
*EXCEPTION: Student-athletes in the 60m, 60m hurdles, and 200m are invited to complete their warm-up on the infield about 30 minutes prior to event. Specific times are listed on the schedule of events. During this time, coaches are permitted to access the infield to work with their student-athlete(s), if desired. Student-athletes will be asked to exit the infield and stage with their heat in the northeast corner of the track five (5) minutes before their event. At this time, coaches without an “All Access” credential are asked to coach from inside the designated coaches’ boxes during the event. At the conclusion of the event, those same coaches are expected to exit the track.

FROM INTERSTATE 80: Take Exit 242 (First Avenue). Turn onto First Avenue (right from east bound, left from west bound). Follow First Avenue, going south, through the Highway 6 (Second Street) and First Avenue intersection. First Avenue turns into Mormon Trek Boulevard after the intersection. Continue on Mormon Trek Boulevard for about 0.4 miles. Turn right onto Hawkeye Park Road and continue going straight until the first driveway on your left. Take a left to access the east parking lot. Please refer to the map below.
PARKING // ENTRANCE Team vehicles may drop-off at the main entrance (indicated in ). Passenger vehicle parking is available in Student Lot, east of the HTRC (indicated in ).
