[1] Motivation is a productivity factor industry. It is the sum of managerial science. The most important task

of management is to get the work done by subordinates and achieve results. Getting the work done

depends mainly on whether a person has been motivated to do it. Motivating a worker is to create a need

and desire on the part of a worker to improve his present performance. It has been once remarked by the

president of an American corporation. “You can by a man‟s time, you can buy a man‟s presence at a

given pace, but you cannot buy his enthusiasm, initiative and loyalty.” This enthusiasm or willingness to

work can be created by motivation only.

[2] There are many holy rivers in India, but the Ganges is the most holy of all. Most of the holy places stand

on that great river. The Ganges rises on the southern side of the Himalaya Mountains. It flows on and on

for many hundreds of the miles until it comes to the sea. It gets bigger and bigger as it goes because a

great many of other rivers great and small, join it. The bigger of these is Yamuna. This river joins the

Ganges at the great city of Allahabad.

[3] Now a days paper has become very costly. It costs three times more than before. Sometimes it is not even

available. Therefore one has yet to be very careful in using paper. Now I will tell you how careful Gandhiji was

about paper. Every day he was getting hundreds of letters. Gandhiji did not throw away such letters. He wrote the

draft of his letters on the back. Sometimes he used to write articles for his „Harijan‟ on them. He seldom bought

paper for his use. -

Bank officers should realize the importance of advertisement material. Through this, we convey

our thoughts to the people; and also sow the seeds of our deposits. The same is sprout of and spread up

in all directions and reward us of large deposits. A few banks get published advertisements in English.

How the less educated mass can understand English advertisements? With the lull of English, the

advertisement expenditure goes a waste. We use English just to highlight our image. Due to this, we go

away from the general public, resulting there by neither we can increase our deposits nor we remain in

close touch with the public in general.

Vidhyasagar was a very generous and charitable man. From his earliest years he helped the poor

and needy to the at most of his power. As a boy at school he often gave the little food he had to eat, to

another boy who had none. If one of his school fellows fell ill little Eashwar would go to his house, sit

by his bed and nurse him. His name became a house hold word in Bengal. Rich and poor, high and low,

all loved him alike. No begger ever asked him for relief in vain.

3)

Mahatma Buddha was born 2500 years ago. He was a great preaches of non-violence. He said

that it is duty to be kind to all. One day he saw an old man. Then he saw a dead man. At this he was

pained at heart. He left his house and went to the jungles to do penance. He remained there for six years

and at last one day he got what he wanted. From that day, he was called Buddha. He also preached a

new religion called Buddhism.
