University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarships

The intention of the scholarships is to encourage and support academically excellent domestic and international students, to undertake doctoral study at the University of Auckland. Students will be assessed for scholarship eligibility at the time of application to the doctoral programme.

Students must be enrolled full-time at the University of Auckland for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, or the research component of another approved doctorate. Selection criteria will be based on academic merit, measured by the grade point average or grade point equivalent obtained in the applicant’s most recent qualifying programme for doctoral study (all students who obtained a grade point average of 8.00 or above (in their most recent qualifying programme) will be awarded a scholarship. All Māori or Pacific students who obtained a grade point average of 7.50 or above (in their most recent qualifying programme) will be awarded a scholarship); strategic factors may also be taken in to consideration.

The intention of the scholarships is to encourage and support to meritorious domestic students enrolled for a postgraduate level Bachelors Honours degree or, where applicable, an approved Postgraduate Diploma.

Students will be assessed for scholarship eligibility when their application for postgraduate admission to the University of Auckland is approved. To be awarded this scholarship, applicants must have obtained their most recent qualifying programme at a recognised university and have achieved a GPA of 8.0 or above in that programme.

The intention of the scholarships is to support meritorious students applying for an approved research masters degree at the University of Auckland.

The purpose of this Scholarship is to recognise and reward the student enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) or Master of Commerce in Accounting who achieved the highest grade point average in Stage III Accounting courses.

Students must be enrolled full-time in a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) or Master of Commerce in Accounting and have achieved the highest GPA in Accounting courses undertaken at Stage III level in the year (or years) preceding the award.

Fair Wind Foundation Scholarships

The main purpose of the Scholarships is to assist female students, who are experiencing challenging personal, family or financial circumstances that may prevent them from undertaking full-time study. Preference is given to women of Cook Island descent.

The basis of selection will be female students (preferably of Cook Island descent), academic merit, the nature and quality of the applicant’s personal statement, motivation to succeed at university and demonstrated financial hardship. Academic merit is assessed by a GPA of 3.5 or higher, obtained over the applicant’s most recent two years of full-time graded study (or equivalent). The main purpose of the Scholarship is to provide funding for Māori and Pacific Island postgraduate students at The University of Auckland Business School.

The Scholarship will be offered to a Māori or Pacific Island postgraduate student who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for part-time or full-time enrolment in any postgraduate programme offered by the Business School. Ann Rich Holway Scholarship

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to motivate and support a student who intends to enrol into a Master of Commerce and aspires to a successful career within the Market Research Industry in New Zealand. The successful applicant is also expected to be an active contributor to the environmental and social well-being of communities in New Zealand.

The basis of selection will be academic merit and a written statement from the candidate on their potential to contribute to the market research profession and their contribution to community activities through volunteer work. Goodman Scholarship The main purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage academic excellence among students in the Department of Property.

Students will have a Bachelor of Property and be in their first or subsequent years of study within the Faculty of Business and Economics. Ngāpuhi Scholarship Awards

The scholarships were established to help contribute towards Ngāpuhi students realising their potential and fulfilling their dreams for academic success. Kā Pūtea Tertiary Scholarships and Grants

Tertiary education grants are available to Ngāi Tahu whānau pursuing higher education.

Scholarships and grants are available to all registered Ngāi Tahu iwi members. There are two types of funding to support whānau who are studying at tertiary level.

Kā Pūtea Scholarships: There are a total of 40 Ngāi Tahu Kā Pūtea Scholarships valued at $1,500 each. The three scholarship categories are General Scholarships (nine available), Targeted Scholarships (13 available) and Papatipū Rūnanga Scholarships (18 available).

Kā Pūtea Grants: Available to full-time first year Ngāi Tahu tertiary students ($250) and full-time second/subsequent year Ngāi Tahu students ($500).

Tarutaru me Ruapounamu Memorial Tertiary Scholarships

These scholarships have been initiated to assist and promote higher education amongst the descendants of the Iwi of Te Rarawa. They commemorate our tupuna rangatira Tarutaru and Ruapounamu, who represent the qualities and characteristics of commitment, leadership and tenacity with which their descendants may also be imbued.

Scholarships are for students who descend from Te Rarawa. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate active participation in their Te Rarawa marae/hapu, and who are willing to contribute to the ongoing development of the Iwi at some level. Note that applicants must be affiliated with Te Rarawa.
