GUIUAN- a municipality in the province of Eastern Samar,

Philippines, suffered heavy damage on November 8th, 2013, including

110 fatalities and over 3,625 injuries, as it was hit by the eye of super-typhoon Haiyan. According to a

recent analysis of affected municipalities, Guiuan is the 4th

most impacted area. We need YOUR help!

Bayanihan para sa mga Barangay is an adopt-a-

community project led by the Jesse M. Robredo

Foundation, in partnership with the Kaya Natin!

Movement for Good Governance and Ethical

Leadership and PLAN International-Philippines.

The project aims to create a disaster fund for 25

barangays (villages, suburbs, districts) from

Eastern Samar, which will be used for the

rehabilitation of their communities. Funds are

allocated on a case by case basis in accordance

with needs of the particular village. Possible

examples of programs or projects are:%

•Renovation of barangay hall, classrooms, health

center %

•Implementation of sustainable livelihood

programs %

•Repair of water system

Typhoon Haiyan is the deadliest typhoon on record, killing at least 5,924 people in the country alone. Haiyan is also the strongest storm recorded at landfall, and unofficially the fourth strongest typhoon ever recorded

JOHN LEE & MONICA FUNG As a graduate school of education student, John finds time

to play and sing whenever he’s not grading papers. He is joined by Rutgers senior Monica, who comes from a

strong musical background and is in Deep Treble, an a cappella group at RU.

EVA & KEITH Eva and Keith are 3rd year students at RU. They enjoy fine

COLD WEATHER COMPANY Cold Weather Company is a New Jersey-based alt-folk/alt-rock

band founded by singer/songwriters Brian Curry, Steve Shimchick, and Jeff Petescia. A collaborative effort, the group will be writing and performing into the winter, with hopes of
