Nepalese Science & Technology System
Science & Technology (S&T) was considerednecessary

Plan.
At First, National Council for Science & Technology(NCST)
developed under National PlanningCommission in 1976.
Secondly, Royal Nepal Academy for Science &
Technology (ROAST) established in 1982. Thirdly, Ministry of
Science & Technology (MOST) in
1996.

Status of Information Technology in Nepal
RONAST & Mercantile introduced e-mail services in1993, using
dial-up facilities provided by ERNET,New Delhi
Mercantile Office Systems, first Internet ServiceProvider (ISP)
in Nepal, started in July 1995.
Education, travel, tourism, media are highly affectedby IT in
Nepal.
Government of Nepal (GON) adopted ElectronicTransactions Act,
2007.
