Problem: Cross a river from one side to the other side

1.- Identify the problem

Page 4: Unit 1 technological process

Additional problems:

◦ ¿Is it too deep to cross by feet?

◦ ¿Is there too much water stream or cold temperature to cross swimming?

1.- Identify the problem

Tacoma Narrows Bridge First design by Clark Eldridge (11$ million).

Another design, by Leon Moisseiff, was chosen, reducing the total cost (8$ million).

Features:

◦ Total length of 1600 metres.

◦ Main span of 853 metres.
