Task 1Criteria 1.1 – Exemplar answerJob centres can give personalised service to job seekers. They support you by looking at your CV and helping you with interview skills. You can get extra training to help you get a job and will give you advice on jobs that are suited to your experience and qualifications.

Possible sources of information; Employment agencies Job centres Magazines Newspapers Public notice boards Journals and publications Word of mouth

Reason why may be a suitable source; the choice of source could limit or widen the type and number of

job vacancies searched for eg using the internet versus using a local job notice board;

some sources of employment are specialised or specific to particular job types eg industry publications, trade journals, specialised recruitment agencies;

differences between employment conditions in different sectors eg working conditions, salary and benefits, terms of employment, ethics and values of the organisation

Task 2Criteria 1.2 – Exemplar answer I will use the newspaper to look for jobs because it will advertise a wide variety of jobs that are specific to my local area. The newspaper will be easy to search through and I can give me some ideas of the type of jobs available.

Task 4Criteria 2.1 – Exemplar answerI have good communication which means I would be able to speak to customers clearly and listen to their questions carefully when serving them. This will mean that I will be more efficient in helping them find what it is they are looking for. I also have good numeracy skills which I can use when working on the tills to process payments and handle money. These skills will make me suitable for the christmas temp job in Boots.

Task 4Criteria 2.3 – Exemplar answerI have achieved a compact award which shows that I am a good attender and punctual at all times. This will be relevant to my role because I will be working shifts and will need to turn up on time to them.

I have achieved good grades in maths and am on track to achieve a c grade in the summer. This is relevant to the role because I will be able to use my qualification to work out payments that I need to make and calculate percentages and discounts for offers that are on.
