Cadet Airman

– Nine weeks as a cadet Airman Basic.– An 80% in Aerospace Science and Leadership.– Zero detentions in AFJROTC– 2 hours of

AFJROTC community service/extra-curricular activities time on record for the year.

– 100% on rank identification sample test.– Perform facing movements properly.– Pledge, understand and write the Cadet Honor Code,

Mission, & Core Values.

Cadet Airman First Class

– Nine weeks as a cadet Airman.– An 80% in Aerospace & Leadership.– Zero detentions in AFJROTC– 4 hours of

AFJROTC community service/extra-curricular activities time on record for the year.

– Identify rank insignias.– Know the chain of command– Know how to report properly.– Maintain at least a GPA of 2.0 in all courses.

Cadet Senior Airman

– Nine weeks as a Cadet Airman First Class.– Zero detentions in AFJROTC– An 80% in Aerospace Science & Leadership.– 6 hours of

AFJROTC community service/extra-curricular activities time on record for the year.

– Give proper facing and marching commands to another cadet.

– Demonstrate appropriate reporting procedures.– Maintain at least a GPA of 2.0 in all courses.

Cadet Staff Sergeant

– One semester as a Cadet Senior Airman.– An 85% in Aerospace Science & Leadership.– Zero detentions in school.– 8 hours of

AFJROTC community service/extra-curricular activities time on record for the year.

– Drill a flight properly with notes (sample of 30 commands of drill)

– Maintain at least a GPA of 2.5 in all courses.

Cadet Technical Sergeant

AFJROTC community service/extra-curricular activities time on record for the year.

– Perform open ranks inspection of a flight.– Maintain at least a GPA of 2.5 in all courses.

Top Three

• On the basis of Merit• Recommendation by either the Cadet Group

• While there is a huge difference between cadet and active duty ranks, the ranks are in the same order and the enlisted ranks look almost identical.

• But the key to telling them apart is the center insignia:

• Absolutes!– Parade Rest *must* be followed by Attention– Present Arms *must* be followed by Order Arms– At Ease *must* be followed by Attention– Dress Right Dress and Open Ranks *Must* be

followed by Ready Front– During Dress Right Dress, *always* have element

leaders to the extreme right. – *Never* talk during the positions of Attention,

Parade Rest, or At Ease

in your head– Know your stuff

• And finally….– RELAX!

• Everyone makes mistakes- just learn from them and we won’t have a problem. If you’re too afraid of messing up, you probably will.

• Loudness: The volume used in giving commands• Projection: The ability of your voice to reach

whatever distance is desired without undue strain• Distinctness: Clear enunciation• Inflection: The change in pitch of the voice• Snap: The extra voice quality that demands
