Welcome! The question I get asked the most is, “Why was The Little Mer-maid your first choice of shows for this summer?” My answer is simple: there are so many universal themes that run through the piece. Themes that I know

are bound to resonate with you, our valued audience members. Ariel laments that she doesn’t feel like she belongs and just wants to fit in, somewhere in life. King Triton is wrestling with the fact that his youngest daughter is all grown up and doesn’t need him as much anymore. Prince Eric is looking for the love of his life while attempting to cast his own fate, rather than accept a future that has been cast for him.

Sound familiar at all? I think that’s what makes The Little Mermaid a perfect fit for CenterStage. We all want to fit in, we all have to learn to let go, and we all strive to guide our own futures.

For the immediate future, we welcome you to the show and our sincere hope is that you leave here just a little happier than when you entered. After all, that’s what we’re here for.

Scott Hancock, Artistic Director

Welcome to our 27th Season! We’ve come a long way since our beginning back in 1992 - when we opened Andro-cles and the Lion. Since then, Center-Stage has presented everything from large-scale musicals, plays,

Shakespeare in the Park and even an original musical.

Plans are in the works to present more shows through-out the year, and to provide a series of summer work-shops to allow youth in the valley to learn and explore the joy of theatre. We invite you to visit our website and learn more about CenterStage Clovis Community Theatre and ways you can also be part of theatre magic, visit our website! www.centerstageclovis.com.

WELCOME TO CENTERSTAGE!

For nearly three decades, CENTERSTAGE has invited the community to join in the excite-ment of producing fine, live theatre here in our own home town. Young performers learn from seasoned veterans onstage. Apprentice technicians hone their craft under the direction of a professional production staff.

They love what they do and it shows. When you combine this kind of talent with the love of the arts you get standing ovations and audiences that know they have been part of something special. As you can imagine, great theatre is not easily produced and requires a sizeable investment.

To those of you who have joined us in the past, thank you. You have made a difference. If you have not yet become an annual sponsor, you can today.

We invite you to become part of this growing community of people who love and contribute to the arts. Your donation is tax-deductible and donations at any level are appreciated.

LORRAINE CHRISTIANSEN (Ariel) Lor-raine is excited to be part of another Center-Stage production! Her other CenterStage pro-ductions include: Beauty and the Beast (Belle), The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narra-tor). She has also performed in Little Women (Beth) and Chicago (Hunyak), at Roger Roc-ka’s Music Hall. Lorraine thanks her husband Dave, and her parents, Peggy, Jim, and Fran, for always encouraging and believing in her. She also thanks her co-workers at Actagro for their support and enthusiasm. And, thank you to Scott, Judith, Connor, and Jessica for their guidance, and for the opportunity to be part of this world!

CHRISTIAN DAVID (Sebastian) Wheth-er it’s in a leading role or in the ensemble, Christian David’s performances are not to be missed! Christian has had the pleasure of per-forming with Good Company Players, Stage-works, and Theater Arts Alliance to name a few. He has been featured in the leading roles of productions such as Dreamgirls, The Wiz, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Shrek, as well as in the ensembles of Ragtime, Show Boat, Hairspray and Porgy and Bess. In addition to his theater work, he is also an accomplished award win-ning gospel artist. He has had the pleasure of performing across the country, with his favor-ite moment being singing behind pop opera icon Andrea Bocelli.

KARI MASON (Ursula) This is Kari’s first time playing a major role on stage. She grew up in a musically active family, singing and performing in churches. She got her love of theater at a young age by participating in several children’s musical productions. As an adult, she took the director’s chair and pro-duced 11 major children’s musicals in her church. She also worked as an Arts Specialist for Fresno Unified, co-writing curriculum and implementing Music and Theater standards in the classroom. Kari is a wife, mother of four, and a busy restaurant owner. She enjoys spending time with her family and serving her community.

CALEB HARBIN (Prince Eric) Caleb is thrilled to be returning to CenterStage this summer! His first experience with Center-Stage was in Fiddler on the Roof (Perchik) last summer. While at Clovis West High School, Caleb acted in multiple productions including The Music Man (Harold Hill), Almost, Maine (Lendall), and Harvey (Elwood P. Dowd). Af-ter his first year at Azusa Pacific University as a Music Ed major, Caleb is excited to be joining the B.F.A in Acting for the Stage and Screen. Caleb thanks God and his family for always supporting him.

CHRISTOPHER LIVERMORE (King Tri-ton) This is Christopher (Chris) Livermore’s first experience working with CenterStage. However, not his first appearance on stage as he was in TAA Visalia’s production of The Lit-tle Mermaid as well as playing the role of King Triton there back in 2016. Also, back in 2012 was on stage with Louise Mandrell in the pro-duction of Calamity Jane at Roger Rocka’s. Back in 2009 he was also involved in FCC’s A Flea in Her Ear. Chris’ love for singing and performing is only surpassed by his love for Disney. He has longed for a chance to be a voice actor for Disney much like Phil Harris or Alan Tudyk. A few of his inspirations for acting/singing came from Dick Van Dyke and the late Robin Williams. Yet his strongest driv-ing force is perhaps his idol, Walt Disney him-self. The goal to bring happiness to others is a goal Chris hopes to accomplish several times over in his lifetime. Chris currently works as a Behavior Therapist and helps children for a living. He hopes to one day be an actor on the big screen and do many more voice acting roles as well.

JULIANA RICHARDSON (Flounder) Juli-ana Richardson will be a 7th grader at Granite Ridge in the fall and is thrilled to be in this amazing production with this talented cast! Some of Juliana’s past productions have in-cluded: CNEC’s Mary Poppins (Fannie/Jane U/S), Oliver! (Workhouse Orphan); CAA’s Annie (Annie), Cinderella (Cinderella) and Al-ice in Wonderland (Small Alice).
