Dental Marketing Begins Or Ends Digitally - And Social Media Is Its Core

Friday, August 269 am to Noon or 1 pm to 4 pm

Progressive dental practices use social media marketing to attract new patients, raise top-of-mind awareness and referrals, decrease attrition, increase case ac-ceptance, and strengthen patient relationships. But effective social media isn’t something you “have”—it’s something that you “do”! Relationship marketing through social media helps your practice stop focusing on what you make (den-tistry), and focus on the things you make possible. Remarkable social media con-tent, in turn, helps with your complete digital marketing strategy—including SEO. Digital marketing can no longer be thought of as a “bolt-on” or adjunct to some other marketing plan. How do you navigate and benefit from this dynamic new environment with the limited amount of time and resources you have to spend on marketing?

Learning Objectives:- Understand the three ways practices attract new patients on Facebook.- Start creating the 6 types of content that best engage audiences.- Understand how social media and reviews affect SEO.- Modify proven, successful campaigns for use in your own practice.- Determine and create tasks and action items for specific team members.- Discover how to use your blog to strengthen patient relationships.- Learn how to “sell” dental services without selling.

Effective Whitening Strategies for the Next DecadeFriday, August 26

1 pm to 4 pmMade possible in part by Premier Dental.

This seminar presents a comprehensive approach in offering cosmetic whitening efficiently and cost-effectively in your practice. During this decade and consideration to the current state of our economy, assumptions are made that elective procedures such as “teeth bleaching” are not a valued or affordable service sought by our patients. On the contrary, we are seeing steady numbers of clients who believe that esthetic services are equally important in their overall healthcare maintenance. Cosmetic whit-ening can compliment high quality minimally-invasive dentistry as a practice builder and patient satisfaction tool. A well-versed staff that holds a greater knowledge in their patient’s expectations and anticipated outcomes in cosmetic whitening serves to be a highly-valued asset to today’s practice!

Learning Objectives:- Brief review of how teeth whitening became popular in OTC/Professional delivery systems- Demographics that make up the greatest population who seeks this service- Overview of: OTC, In-office and take-home professionally-supervised deliveries- Fluorosis/whitening and enamel microabrasion options- Safety - potential long-term effects based on product strength and product abuse?- Product recommendations that can provide ease in resolving transient sensitivity as well as enamel/dentinal protection following whitening procedures- Tooth whitening maintenance, hints and tips for patients/consumers- Use of remineralization and desensitization agents in preserving enamel post-whitening- Design a marketing strategy for your practice team

If you’re still telling patients to, “Brush, floss, and use fluoride toothpaste” you’re going to be surprised by the myriad of treatment options available today. Streptococcus mutans has more to fear than stronger fluoride and more of it, as dentistry embraces oral healthcare.

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:• Identify risk factors leading to caries.• Explain the role of commensals.• Implement disease management in practice.• Safely consume a variety of candy and sugary beverages.• Prolong the life of restorations in all patients.

Restorative EndodonticsA Modern Standard of Care for Long-Term Success

Friday, September 16, 2016 - “Limited Attendance”9 am to 4 pm

Made possible in part by Real World Endo, Brasseler USA and J. Morita USA. Restorative Endodontics (RE) is based on minimally invasive root canal preparations and bioceramic bonded obturation that enhance the long term biomechanical success of the endodontically treated tooth. It (RE) is based on a biologic approach that emphasizes debridement and disinfection rather than shaping for obturation. This presentation is highly practical and will describe (in detail) numerous facets of clinical endodontics, utilizing a “Case Based Learning Approach.” A premolar and molar clinical case will be discussed in detail that will demonstrate both the Basic and Advanced instrumentation and Obturation Technique, as well some technique variations to handle more challenging cases. The principal scientific concepts for successful endodontics will be presented as well as new technology and techniques that emphasize responsible shaping and HA (hydroxyapatite) bonding inside the root canal. A new instrumentation and obturation system (ESX®) will be introduced that incorporates the above concepts. All participants will have the opportunity to validate these concepts during the hands-on session. The lecture is dedicated to the preservation of the natural dentition through smarter more thoughtful endodontics. This presentation is a must see for those practitioners committed to clinical efficiency without sacrificing quality care for their patients.

Please bring a file sample from your current rotary system to compare to ESX (a size 35 is ideal). In addition, any accessed, extracted teeth you may want to work on

So You Think You Know How to Make a Partial?Saturday, September 17, 2016

9am - 4pm - At the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey HotelMost clinicians provide the partial dentures service to patients. A partial denture should not be a transitional prosthesis for the complete denture. It should be a good option for patient to replace the missing teeth and tissue. Although implants could be an option to replace the teeth, however, in the real dentistry, many patients cannot afford the implants. Due to the limited training in dental school, many clinicians do not feel comfortable to design and fabricate a partial denture. This course will review the principles of a removable partial denture in a practical way and dis-cuss the different clinical modifications for the real world dentistry. Morning coffee provided.Educational Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants are expected to:1. Survey and design a partial denture2. Treatment of Gingival Recession: Restorative and Surgical Approaches

Friday, September 30, 2016 - 9 am - 12 pm

Treatment of gingival recession and cervical lesions can often vary dependent on the perspective and training of the clinician. This course aims to cover treatment of gingival recession and cervical lesions from both restorative and surgical perspectives. From the restorative viewpoint, there are several material selection options, which are most frequently composite resin and glass ionomer materials. Properties of these materials as well as clinical techniques specific for cervical restorations will be discussed.

Additionally, preventative measures for both carious and non-carious cervical lesions will be presented based on an understanding of their etiology. From a periodontal surgical standpoint, the predictability of soft tissue grafting for root coverage, treatment planning for improved outcomes and various surgical alternatives will be presented. Predetermining root coverage for teeth with recession is key for patient satisfaction and enhanced esthetic results. Often, the presence of recession in association with a cervical lesion benefits from the combination of restorative and surgical treatments to replace the missing hard and soft tissues.

Join us Friday, October 28th for a discussion of both introductory and advanced practical applications of forensic odontology and anthropology with a focus on recovery and identification of unknown remains and bite mark evidence. Dr. Bill Bass, a world-renowned forensic anthropologist and founder of the “The Body Farm,” will discuss some of the more notable cases on which he has worked.
