Objectives and Anticipated Outcomes

1 )To create national social network of young immigrants’ families, providing them with positive Israeli Jewish experience and place to share their identity& culture dilemmas.

2) To develop educational content, programs and materials for young immigrant parents and educators on issues of Jewish & Israeli culture and identity , bilingualism and biculturalism at Israeli immigrant families.

3) To raise an awareness to dilemmas of biculturalism and social integration in Israel.

4) To strengthen Jewish continuity and "connectedness" to Israel among young immigrant Israeli families. By that we also aim to help stem the tide of Russian-Jewish Young Professionals emigration from Israel.

Mishpohod Family Journey.

Weekend educational outdoor meetings for young families, meant to strengthen the connection to the land of Israel via its rich nature resources, cultural and historical landmarks.

Three journeys like this already took place in 2012, each one attracting more families that the one before.

SabRus Parents’ Meetings

Annual series of parents’ groups meetings with Israeli professionals in issues of identity, education and culture. Currently running at Rehovot and Beer Sheba, next destinations-Jerusalem and Ashdod.

Miriam & Danny Rubinstein, Eithan’s parents.

Started as participants in our activities, and then asked to join the team. Danny and Miriam help with logistics, preparations, generating ideas,. They do it with a lot of devotion and love.

Yoni Demeshko, Ilan’s father.

Yoni is responsible for all recent colorful flyers of our activities – he creates them, using his imagination and deep understanding of our needs. Besides, he is great with kids, which comes in handy when working with families.

Eddie Berkovitch, Adam’s father.

Eddie is an experienced non-formal educator, who knows how to organize a big activity for large amount of people. He is also a great photographer, and thanks to him we have amazing pictures from the family journeys.

Ira and Lena are talented young designers and artists. They were with us right from the beginning, and created our logo and our first flyers.

3. Family ceremonies moderators’ course. Half-annual professional workshop for Russian Speaking Israeli parents and professionals interested to learn about family based ceremonies in order to conduct them in their own families and communities (baby boy\girl naming and welcoming rituals, Bar /Bat-Mitzvah).This is a joint project with “HAVAYA Israeli life cycle ceremonies”.

4. International families exchange program. Social and educational program of “ guest families” exchange, providing young Russian speaking Jewish families affordable opportunity to travel with little kids and to get introduced to life of Russian speaking community in Israel\ Russia \ North America
