Dear Parents and Friends,

Autumn Term 2017

Issue: Three Friday 20 October 2017

Goodbye Moodle! We have been phasing out the Moodle platform and after half term, Moodle will no longer be updated or used. Instead, teachers

will be using the messaging and attachment facility on MarvellousMe for curriculum statements and other class related information. We will continue to

use email in the prime communication of letters home. Don’t forget the school website also has school policies, documents and plenty of information about the

school. Any further suggestions for improvement in communication are most welcome and can be sent into the school office.

Homelessness Awareness Week ~ At the end of our homelessness

awareness week, staff and children experienced what it would be like to

have no luxuries for the day. Lessons took place on the floor with no tables or

chairs and no Smartboards or computers. By the end of the day, hundreds of

toiletries had been donated to the YMCA in exchange for children wearing MUFTI. “It

must be really uncomfortable for people who don’t have anywhere to sit and eat or if they

don’t have a bed. They must be really sad and unhappy’, Sienna, Year 4.

A BIG THANK YOU to all those Parents, Friends, Staff, Directors and not forgetting the pupils of the school, that turned up on Saturday 14

October to

assist with the laying of the new rubber chippings in the Adventure Playground.

I would also like to thank the PFA who very kindly agreed to fund this project and without their continued support, large projects such as this would not be possible. Steve Tomkinson, Site Manager
