TE’s PARALIGHT activeoptical cable assembliesuse state-of-the-arttechnology to provide costeffective high data through-put interconnects. Thecables incorporate E/O andO/E conversion built into theconnector shell to yield adramatic improvement inPCB real estate utilization.

Using 850 nm VCSELtechnology, the 5 Gb/sactive cable assemblies willoperate over a data rate of2.5 to 5 Gb/s per lane withan aggregate data rate of20 Gb/s in each direction.The 10 Gb/s active cableassemblies will operate overa data rate of 2.5 to 10 Gb/sper lane with an aggregatedata rate of 40 Gb/s in eachdirection.

They are available in lengthsup to 100 meters using 50micron fiber. Longer lengthsavailable upon request. TheEOE circuitry is designed foruse with 8B/10B encodeddata streams, such asInfiniBand, Fibre Channel,and XAUI.
