As you plan for navigating the Twin Cities during Marathon Weekend, please note the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s current projects, road closures, and traffic updates. Saint Paul: John Ireland Blvd between 12th Street and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. will close Thursday, October 3 at 9 a.m. Friday, October 4 Saint Paul: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Between University Avenue and Cedar Street will close Friday, October 4 at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 5 Saint Paul: John Ireland Blvd. and Kellogg Blvd. will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 6:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saint Paul: John Ireland Blvd. and Summit Avenue (to Pascal Street) will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 6:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Selby Avenue to Nina Street to Summit Avenue will be closed from 6:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Saint Paul: 12th Street from Wabasha to John Ireland Blvd. will be closed Saturday, October 5 from 5:00 a.m. to noon and on Sunday, October 6 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saint Paul: Summit Avenue between Ramsey Street and Portland Ave will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 6:45 a.m. through Sunday October 6 at 6 p.m. Detour route on Portland Ave to Arundel Street. Sunday, October 7 Minneapolis: From 5th Avenue to 11th Avenue and from 7th Street to 3rd Street will be closed on Sunday, October 6 at 4:00 a.m. for start line setup and will reopen at approximately 9 a.m. Minneapolis: Traffic turning onto the course on Sunday, October 6 will be shut down at 6:30 a.m. for the 10 Mile, and 7:30 a.m. for the marathon. Cross traffic will be allowed to flow until the wheel chair athletes begin to approach. Saint Paul: Traffic turning onto the course on Sunday, October 6 will be shut down at 6:30 a.m. Saint Paul: Summit Avenue between Ramsey Street and Portland Ave will be closed from Saturday, October 5 at 6:45 a.m. through Sunday, October 6 at 6:00 p.m. Detour route on Portland Ave to Arundel Street.     As you plan for navigating the Twin Cities during Marathon Weekend, please note the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s current projects, road closures, and traffic updates.

    Saint Paul: John Ireland Blvd between 12th Street and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. will close Thursday, October 3 at 9 a.m.

    Friday, October 4Saint Paul: Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Between University Avenue and Cedar Street will close Friday, October 4 at 9 a.m.

    Saturday, October 5Saint Paul: John Ireland Blvd. and Kellogg Blvd. will be closed on Saturday, October 5 from 6:45 a.m. to 11:00a.m.

    Minneapolis: Traffic turning onto the course on Sunday, October 6 will be shut down at 6:30 a.m. for the 10Mile, and 7:30 a.m. for the marathon. Cross traffic will be allowed to flow until the wheel chair athletes begin to approach.

    ROAD CLOSURE & COURSE CROSSING INFORMATION

    COURSE CROSSING

    Miles 0-2 - Shut down approximately 7:30 a.m. Reopened approximately: 9:00 a.m.

    - Use side streets to cross course using freeways I-94 or 35W

    - Head towards Lake Street and obey course marshals to cross course intermittently at Lake Street.

    - 11th Ave. Bridge (near US Bank Stadium) is closed and is not a good option in 2019Miles 3-8 - Shut down approximately 7:30 a.m. Reopened approximately: 10:30 a.m.- Head south and obey course marshals to cross course intermittently at 50th Street

    Miles 8-12 - Shut down approximately 7:30 a.m. Reopened approximately: 11:25 a.m.- Nicollet Ave. and 35W are North/South crossings that have bridges over the race course and are the bestoptions in this section.- Head to Nicollet and cross race course.- If you are South of race course, access the Nicollet Ave. Bridge or 35W from 54th St. (if you are West ofNicollet Ave.) or Diamond Lake Rd. (if you are East of Nicollet Ave.)- If you are North of course, go to 50th St. (East/West-bound street) and head south on Nicollet Ave. to cross.

    Miles 21-26 - Shut down approximately 6:30 a.m. Reopened approximately: 2:30 p.m.

    - Take Ayd Mill or Grand Avenue into downtown Saint Paul to go around State Capitol area- Ford Parkway crosses the course without delays- I-35E through Downtown Saint Paul is an alternate route around the course

    Miles 12-15 - Shut down approximately 7:30 a.m. Reopened approximately: 12:00 p.m.

    -If you need to cross the course from the north or south, use Hiawatha Ave., which has an underpass that runsbelow the course.-If you need to cross from the East/West, see the below instructions for the Ford Pkwy Bridge, or use HiawathaAve. to get south of the course to travel East/West-Use Hiawatha Ave. underpass to cross the course North/SouthMiles 15-21 - Shut down approximately 6:30 a.m. Reopened approximately: 1:25 p.m.-If you need to cross over the Mississippi River there are 2 options: Ford Pkwy Bridge: accessed from the Westside of the river by heading Southbound on 46th Ave. S. or Eastbound on E. Lake St. or from cross streets Northand South of Lake St.-Take nearest through street to freeways (I94 or 35W)

    Miles 12-15 - Shut down approximately 7:30 a.m. Reopened approximately: 12:00 p.m.

    St. Paul Course Crossings

    Miles 20-21

    - Take nearest through street to freeways (I94 or 35W)- If you need to cross Westbound over the Mississippi River, take the Lake St./Marshall St Bridge
