It was a lovely morning outside today so while the Monkeys waited for the rest of
their friends to arrive they enjoyed a nice morning tea picnic in the sun.
After a delicious morning tea, the Monkeys had a little group time where we read
some o our old favourite books from the Monkey room. We read “Animals on pa-
rade’, and ‘Where’s Mrs. Ladybird.’ The Monkeys really enjoyed “Where’s Mrs.
Ladybird?’ with all of its fun felt peek a boo flaps and exciting colours.
This book used to be one of our favourites before the pandemic and our Monkeys
sure where happy to revisit it and see it again.
After reading we sung a couple of our Monkeys favourite sings to help transition
them into outdoor ply, these songs include wheels on the bus, if you’re happy and
you know it, and one little finger.
Group time is very important for our Monkeys as it helps them communicate with
their peers, use their imaginations, and build their social skills. It also helps them
with their daily transitions and knowing what is happening in their daily environ-
ment which helps them feel secure and safe.

LO 3.1 – children become strong in their social and emotional
well-being
During outside play this morning, I bought out the bubble wand for our Mon-
keys to chase and try and pop! Our Monkeys had a ball running around the
Baby world yard giggling trying o pop the bubbles before their friends caught
them, it was a delight to see. Han Han would often say “Bubble, bubble’ if
she would like more bubbles and I had stopped blowing them, t is excellent
to see the Monkeys vocabulary growing more and more everyday.
Blowing bubbling helps develop your child's fine motor skills of blowing, this
skill is a little tricky to develop in the younger years and can be seen develop-
ing easier as your child grows. Chasing and popping bubbles also helps build
their gross motor skills and hand eye coordination as well as their balance,
with the added bonus of it being a super fun activity!

LO 1.3 – children develop knowledgeable and confident self-identities
Art-Today I Made a Friend!
For art today the Monkeys made handprint art!
They chose the colour they wanted their handprint to be, and stamped it on the page they then
rubbed their hands with their friends printed hand to create a new colour and printed that handprint.
All of our Monkeys just love doing art and are always very keen to participate in whatever activity,
they are presented with on any given day. Although some of our Monkeys still do not like getting their
hands dirty an will quickly wash away they the paint or glue or ask an educator to clean their hands if
they get messy during art time.
Art is a very important building block for your child's development, it helps them express emotions,
develop their imaginations, it helps promote confidence and can even assist in problem solving.

LO 5.1 – children interact verbally and non-verbally with others for a range of purposes
For independent play the Monkeys were spoilt for choice this morning as they had the whole Baby world yard to themselves,
which a wide variety of toys. The obstacle course, tea set, giant Lego bricks and line bead maze were all big hits this morning
with our Monkeys.
Hanna and Han Han had a great time taking turns on the obstacle course and seeing who could balance and navigate over the
ladder, along the balance beam and down the slide at the end. Obstacle courses are very beneficial to our Monkeys as it helps
them build strong muscles, developed their gross motor kills, their hand eye coordination and balance.
Noah, Hanna and Han Han also had a very nice tea party with tea and cakes, they all happily served one another cake and tea
and pretended to drink and refill their cups. It was wondaful to see such good turn taking and sharing behaviour.
Evelina and Hanna also decide to build a big tower with the giant Lego bricks and see how high they could make it before it
would topple down. Building with blocks or Lego is very good for our Monkeys as it helps develop both their gross and fine
motor skills as well as their perception skills when building towers.
