(IET) awarded KJSIEIT the

prestigious award, conferring the title as the “Best Academic Affiliate Partner”

for stupendously conducting various technical & social activities for students

& faculty in Mumbai Region & across India.

An icing on the cake was Prof. Vaishali Gaikwad from Department of Information

Technology was also awarded as "Best Promising Teacher for Student

Engagements in Technical & Innovative Activities" by IET. Being amongst the

prominent institutions around the globe and a popular one at our college, the twin

wins have just served as a reminder of the participation of KJSIEIT in various

local as well as global activities,striving towards the goal of the institution of

using and taking technology to greater levels and for the betterment of the society.

Our Alumni from EXTC Department held grooming sessions for the students

from the department. The sessions and the interactions were held for Accenture

at our college premises and were attended by large number of students eager to

know what it takes to get into one of most sought after IT company!

Attendees included- Mr. Apurva Desai (2012),MS.Priyanka Patil (2016),Ms.

Deepthy Nair (2016),Mr. Meet Parikh (2016)

An interactive session was held by the EXTC Department exploring the often

debated topic- “Job Opportunities”! Mr. Ekagar Singh Hara the speaker for

the same.

Seminars

Our Alumni,Mr.Kunal Panchal conducted guest lecture on “Project

Development strategies” for BE students! This talk proved beneficial for our

students in deciding the flow of projects they wish to take up.Mr. Kunal also

clarified many doubts regarding various project management strategies post the

talk.

Mr.Mayank Purohit conducted guest lecture on “Public Key Infrastucture”

for BE students. The main aim of the talk was knowing the loopholes of a

system and how to rectify them. Students were also updated with the

knowledge on related subject and questions were answered thereafter.

For the Electronics Department, a talk was organized by Prof Sarika Bhosale on

“Introduction to MEMS, Opportunities in Core Electronics Engineering”. Mr

Gaurav Valecha was the speaker for the session organized for the students of

4th year!

For semester VIII, the students have a subject related to MEMs.Hence this talk

assumed an importance amongst the students. Mr. Gaurav discussed ideas and

concepts regarding various MEMs devices such as cantilever beam, heater with

their applications along with its basics. Discussions were also held on

preparations for core electronics interviews with Mr Gaurav sharing his own

experiences!

At the concluding part of the session, students cleared many of their doubts

and the overall talk proved to be a great learning experience for them!

ALUMNI Updates! Alumni of our college, from the Computers

Department, Mr Prashant Nair

held a guest lecture on “Interactive

Session on industry requirements”.The

session was held for the sophomore

year students at our campus.Attended

well over 60 students, the lecture was

very well received and many doubts

were cleared of the curious students.

More about Prashant Nair:

Prashant Nair,Joint Secretary on the AlCom Administrative board is currently

working as Managing Director at CognitoIT Consulting Pvt. Ltd.He had

previously worked as Senior Subject Matter Expert at MSys Training.Prashant

has also been a part of companies like PI,BACI,IDEMI and Orosimo

Technologies.

Prashant has been active in the activities and happenings of the Alumni

Committee and has recently contributed a high tech computer for the college

students.

Double ‘A’ for KJSIEIT!

National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), which

provides online certification courses,with lectures from professors of IITs,

recently graded our college with a ‘AA’ certificate based on performance of

students and faculties in NPTEL online certification courses during the period

July-December 2016.

Prof. Jyoti Wadmare from the Department of Computers was also felicitated by

NPTEL for her role as a SPOC with rating AA. She was well supported by the

NPTEL team consisting of Prof. Sejal Shah(Electronics Department), Prof.

Nasim Shah (IT Department) and Prof. Rashmi Adatkar (EXTC Department).

The team took herculean efforts in proving that awareness and participation

amongst students increases which resulted in students getting access to quality

education from the very best in the business!

Talk on Mac OS & iOS!

Mr Navnath Memane, our Alumni from the Computers Department and Co-

founder of Appvissta Software Pvt.Ltd held a Guest Lecture at our Institute on 4th

October! The topic was one of the most debated and a favourite amongst students-

Mac OS and iOS!

The students were keen to know

about one of most advanced and yet

simple to use operating systems. The

hour long session was well attended

by the Third Year students and prove

-d to be a learning experience for

them!

Mr Navnath,who is also an iOS

faculty at iDeators Training Institute

at the conclusion of the session took

some curious questions from the audience and helped them cleared their doubts

,thus proving to be complete package on the topic of Mac and iOS!
