THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy week! We had a super day on Monday, when we were visited by Bob Hartman, who really was in-spirational! The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in his stories and songs. Do ask them to tell you all about it!

At Eppleby Forcett this week, the children have been busy making their Christmas crafts. The Reception children have been planting hyacinths and learning about how to look after and care for plants and the Preschool chil-dren made some sensory playdough.

This week, Year 1 have been getting to know the story of ‘The Snail and The Whale’ even more; they have acted out the story, created beautiful backdrops and written great descriptions for each of the scenes in the adven-ture. They have also enjoyed getting crafty this week. They have been busy making Christmas pudding pom-poms and snowmen ornaments for the Christmas fair. Year 2 have also started their Christmas theme in RE. They have looked at how lights are used during the festive period and what light represents. They have al-so been very busy practising for the Christmas play. They have been practising lines; singing songs and learning their stage directions!

In Year 3, the children have been reading ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’ and drawing maps. They have also been learning about Japanese origami and created boats, hats and trees displaying extracts of the story. The Year 4 children have been looking at non-chronological reports in English. Their topic for this half term is Buildings, so they have been designing their own buildings and writing some amazing reports about them too!

This week, Year 5 have enjoyed using drama workshops to inspire writing based on their class novel. Also, a big 'Well done' to Year 5 for creating excellent games stalls for the Christmas fair. They were great fun! This week, the Year 6 children have been busy planning their residential trip to Robin Wood. They have also been finishing off their enterprise stalls for the Christmas Fair – they were absolutely fantastic!

Of course, one of the highlights of our week was the amazing Christmas Fair on Thursday evening. As always, it was great to see so many parents and Friends of the school. THANK YOU to everyone who came along to help and to support our schools.

Looking forward to next week, we will be continuing our Christmas preparations and also have our first Friends’ wreath making event on Saturday evening.

For day-to-day enquiries please contact the school office or speak to your child(ren)’s class teacher. As you know, I work for the Federation for 50% of the week and share my time between school sites, so am not always availa-ble. Do remember that our Head of School, Mrs McLean, can be contacted on a daily basis if necessary.

I look forward to seeing you in school soon.

Kindest regards,

Mrs K. Williamson, Executive Headteacher

It is that time of year again when you will need to apply for a primary school place for your child if they were born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015.

If you would like to choose our schools for your child’s education you will need to select your catchment school as your first choice, which will be either Trinity Academy Eppleby Forcett or Trinity Academy Middleton Tyas and then put the other school as your second choice. If neither school is your catchment school we would suggest choosing Trinity Academy Middleton Tyas as your first choice and Trinity Academy Eppleby For-cett as your second choice.

Applications must be submitted by 15th January 2019.

The national offer day (the day when you find out where your child has been allocated a place) is Tuesday 16th April 2019.

For further information click here to access the admission letter on our website or contact either school office.

You can also access information from North Yorkshire County Council by
