Tribe had “Eggstra” Special Easter Fun
The Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe
hosted their annual Easter Egg Hunt
on Sunday, April 1. They celebrat-
ed Easter with a Community Break-
fast, 5K and an Easter Egg Hunt.
The Easter weekend began with
the Community Breakfast which
was held at the Senior Center. The
5K walk started at 8:00 a.m. with
participants from all ages. The
route began in front of the Educa-
tion Center and followed a scenic
loop down Agency Road to Reser-
vation Road, turning onto Hicks
Road and back to Mission Road.
William Dick was the first to cross
the finish line. Following the 5K,
hundreds of Easter eggs decorated
the field for children to take a crack
at an egg hunt. There was special
hunts for different age groups as
well as prizes, and activities, which
made this a perfect event for your
entire family. At the egg hunt they
brought the lucky children who
found prize eggs to the Arbor Area,
where they won a prize. There were
4 age classes where children could
win a prize and even 1 age group
for adults to win. The entire event
was a knockout!
We would like to pass on a huge
thank you to all the kids, parents,
volunteers and staff for supporting
this event and making it such a spe-
cial family day out.
Kids run to find as many Easter eggs as they can in hopes to find the prize eggs

Telehealth Program Begins at the FTHC!
Telehealth is the use of secure video conferencing technology
that provides clinical health care at a distance. Telehealth uses
state-of the-art technology specifically adapted for Telehealth, it
helps eliminate distance barriers and can improve access to
medical services that would often not be available in rural
communities. It can also be used to save lives in critical care
and emergency situations.
Steps to a Telehealth Appointment:
1. An FTHC Provider refers an FTHC patient to a Specialist.
2. The Purchase Referred Care Representative (Juanita
George) completes the required documents and forwards the
documents to Renown Telehealth in Reno, Nevada.
3. Renown Telehealth contacts the referred patient to discuss
the appointment and verify that the patient does want to
participate in the Telehealth Program.
4. If the FTHC patient agrees to a Telehealth appointment,
then Renown makes the appointment with the appropriate
specialist.
5. The authorization forms and medical documents are
returned to the FTHC Purchase Referred Care
Representative (Juanita George) one week prior to the
scheduled appointment date.
6. The patient reports to the Fallon Tribal Health Center for
their Telehealth appointment 30 minutes prior to their
appointment. patient still checks in with Patient
Registration, gets a “sticker” and reports to the Medical
Suite for their appointment.
7. FTHC Medical staff will assist the patient and the Specialist
with the appointment. The patient will be able to see and
converse with the Specialist during the appointment The
appointment should not take more than 30 minutes.
8. A camera may be used if the Specialist wants to view the
reason for the patient’s visit (wound, ear, tonsils, and/or
skin, eyes, tongue, or to watch the gait of the patient). The
camera DOES NOT RECORD any portion of the visit.
The camera’s only purpose is for the Specialist to view and
observe any changes in the reason for the visit.
9. Once the visit is complete, if medication is prescribed, the
Medical staff will contact the referring FTHC Provider to
order the medication. Medication will be dispensed by the
FTHC Pharmacy. The Specialist will fax all notes regarding
the Telehealth visit to the FTHC referring Provider within
three days of the visit.
FTHC Telehealth Program:
Improving access to Specialists.
Reducing travel time for specialist appoint
ments. Appointments are at the Fallon Tribal
Health Center.

Have an upcoming event or
community announcement?
Make sure it’s in the Numa News Newsletter!
The Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe provides a venue to list/post upcoming events and
community announcements in its Numa News publication. This service is being offered to
provide people with an opportunity to share information with the members of the Fallon
Paiute-Shoshone Tribe. If you have an event or announcement of public interest you may
email [email protected] or by mail to 565 Rio Vista Drive, Fallon, NV 89406 (Attn:
Numa News) for consideration. For events include the event name, date, time, location
and event website, along with a brief description and contact information. The Tribe is not
responsible for inaccurate information, including but not limited to incorrect dates, times,
and locations, published in the newsletter. All information should be submitted by the 1st
of the month for approval prior to publish in the next month’s edition. The Tribe reserves
the right to decline event submissions, as well as to edit event information for length,
spelling, clarity, and language. The newsletter is not intended to be used as a promotional
vehicle for commercial interests or events (unless from Fallon Tribal programs/entities).
References or hyperlinks in the Numa News to any individual or entity are for
informational purposes only and are not an endorsement by the Tribe or Council. The
Tribe is providing no legal, accounting or other professional advice by including
references to any entity or individual. Deadline is the 1st of each month so don’t wait!
