Great news... Most of our academic courses are now taught through an online program called APEX.

Being online allows us to offer many other choices with more up to date material which students find more relevant. It also meets California academic standards and in most cases qualifies for A-G credit. Courses are often completed in a more timely manner due to the fact that students can work on their courses at anytime, even at home. Our Academic Study Center (ASC) will have Chromebooks available to work with. Instructional support will also be available with both a teacher and an aide. Tests will need to be taken in the ASC under the auspices of a proctor.

Tri-Community Adult Education is a certified Court Reporting School.

Tri-Community Adult Education’s Court Reporting Program has been training court reporters since 1974 and captioners since 2000. We are approved by the Court Reporters Board of California and a participating member of NCRA, the National Court Reporters Association.

In this era of technology, train to be a realtime court reporter in the court and deposi-tion field, as well as related careers such as reporting administrative hearings, board meetings, conferences, rapid text entry, medical transcription, scoping/proofreading and CART (captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing). Realtime reporters are in great demand and make in excess of $100,000 per year. Only a state license is required for court reporters, not a degree. For related careers, certifications are offered.

As an adult education program, we offer low-cost public school tuition. We have a day and evening program. Our evening program is available to high school students in the 11th and 12th grades.

To obtain additional information, preregistration information, or to make a counseling appointment, call Griswold Adult Education Center at (626)472-7681.

Basic processing experience is not required to register in any Photo Processing section. Classes are conducted in the 30,000 sq. ft. Tri-Community Photo Center which is furnished with state-of-the–art equipment. (Students taking any Photoshop courses must already be computer literate and are welcome to bring their own laptop. For photo program purposes, “computer literacy” is defined as having a basic understanding of operating a computer, which includes turning the computer on and off, using the mouse, working with pull-down menus, and the opening, closing and saving files.)
