Introduction

Many thanks to Bal Dowrich for all her hard work in organizing London competitions over the last few years. Hopefully I will be able to take over seamlessly but please bear with me whist I get to grips with everything.

The following pages detail the London Regional & NDP Competition Structure for 2018 season. Please feel free to copy this information for anyone who needs it but please ensure that you copy the entire document and not just individual pages. The organisers accept no responsibility for entries being late due to lack of information being passed on. The London Region will adopt any National or other changes as required so updates of this document will to be circulated as necessary.

Venues

Many thanks to all who offered to host events for 2016/17. Please talk to the competition secretary if you would like to host a competition next season.

Club Invitational

We encourage our clubs to proactively develop Invitational Competitions. These require sanctioning by the London Gymnastics Trampoline Committee, as stipulated by London Gymnastics.

Entries

All entries are to be made online only at https://www.british-gymnastics.org/find-an-event?year=2018&discipline=null&level=&region=13 As all entries are now on line, no signed forms are required with the entry.

By entering any London competition, the club must be in good standing with both British & London Gymnastics. Clubs must also accept the rules, policies and codes of conduct in this document.

It is a requirement of entry into each competition that every member of the Team (coach and gymnast)

Page 3: Trampoline Gymnastics Competition Handbook 2018

London Handbook Version 1 30/9/17

3

has paid their membership of British Gymnastics, with the appropriate level of membership for both the level of competition and the skills being performed by their gymnasts. It is necessary that coaches must hold a valid enhanced DBS from British Gymnastics.

Furthermore, it is essential that coaches who are responsible for gymnasts in their team are qualified to the appropriate skill level of their gymnasts.

The onus is on the coach to ensure that gymnasts who are their responsibility meet all of the necessary BG membership requirements outlined above.

The team manager is responsible for the behaviour of his/her club members, coaches and parents. No responsibility will be accepted for loss or damage to property or persons.

NDP & London Grades

We are following the British Gymnastics model of the season running from October 2017 to September 2018. To assist the organiser, we will be holding NDP and Graded events on the same weekend where possible although they will be on different days – NDP and DMT on the Saturday, Graded on the Sunday.

Photography

It is no longer necessary for people to register their intention to take photos and/or videos. However, please see the “British Gymnastics Conditions for Photography at Gymnastic Events” – Appendix 2. Only designated photographers are allowed to take photographs or video on the competition floor.

Jewellery and Body Piercing

Please follow: https://www.british-gymnastics.org/about-us-documents/7980-h-s-guidance-safe-coaching/file for the latest British Gymnastics policy on this.

The policy applies to all participants and coaches, in training and in events at home and abroad. Failure to comply with the policy will prohibit the individual’s participation on the grounds of reasonable safety and may render the individual’s insurance invalid should an accident result.

Bank Account

All London Gymnastic disciplines are required to bank with HSBC Bank. Should any BACs payments need to be made, please use the reference of your club and the competition/penalty when using this method. Account details are:

Account Name: LG Trampolining Tech Committee

Account Number: 72707888

Sort Code: 40-02-26

Schools

The School’s competition is under the direction of the BSGA. Please refer to www.bsga.org for more details.

Further Help

The answers to most questions can be found within this document but if you have any problems interpreting any of the enclosed information or need any more information, please contact Harriet Curtis on [email protected]

Feedback:

We are always open to feedback about the competition structure. However, it is preferable to put this in writing or by email rather than having a long conversation at a competition. The organisers do not always have the time to spend in discussion and conversations can be forgotten or remembered wrongly. Please submit your feedback via email or in writing to [email protected] Your feedback will be then discussed at the next committee meeting. Feedback after each event can also be submitted using the following link as http://bit.ly/GymEventSurvey

Finally, I would like to wish you all success in the season ahead and look forward to seeing you at our competitions.

Harriet Curtis, London Region Competition Secretary.

Competition Information

Performers may be upgraded between the closing date and the day of the competition (subject to having achieved the relevant qualification where required).

After the closing date, no competitor will be allowed to compete at a lower grade than that submitted on the online entry system. It is the responsibility of the team manager to ensure that competitors are entered into the correct grade. By entering this event, the team manager accepts this responsibility.

Please note that the organisers are unpaid volunteers. Whilst the competition organiser is happy to answer any queries regarding a club’s entry, the answer to most questions will be found in this handbook so please check first. Note: there are no ‘office hours’ and the organiser may not always be able to attend to a query immediately nor within a set time limit.

ENTRY FEES:

London NDP competitions: £13 per individual for each discipline.

London Regional competitions: £13 per individual.

London Regional Men’s/Ladies Closed: £21 per individual entry.

London Regional Trampoline Championships: £21 per individual entry.

All events will open 4 weeks prior to each closing date.

Any penalty for supplying one less official than required can be paid via the online entry system as long as the club contacts the competition organizer before completing their entry. Any club that needs to pay the penalty after their event entry is completed must then pay the penalty into the London bank account detailed on Page 3. This must be done by the closing date of the competition.

LATE ENTRIES:

1. Late entries MAY be accepted at the discretion of the competition organiser. 2. Anyone who has missed the closing date MUST contact the competition organiser before

attempting to submit a late entry. 3. The competition organiser MAY decide to accept a late entry but this would be DOUBLE the

entry fee. 4. Acceptance of a late entry is entirely at the discretion of the competition organiser and no

protest or complaint will be accepted for refusal of a late entry.

AFFILIATION:

1. Clubs, coaches, judges and competitors must be affiliated to British Gymnastics. Bronze and Silver memberships are due on 1st October. Gold membership is due on 1st January. Clubs must be affiliated to London Gymnastics. Club affiliations are due on 1st October.

2. Only members of British Gymnastics are allowed on the competition floor. 3. The onus is on the coach to ensure that gymnasts who are their responsibility meet all of the

necessary BG membership requirements outlined above. From time to time, London Gymnastics and other third party agencies will check that these rules have been adhered to. Anyone found not to have complied with the membership and qualification rules explained above will be asked to leave the competition floor and will take no further part in the competition. The matter would then be referred to the London Gymnastics Complaints Officer for further investigation.

TRAMPOLINES:

1. Trampolines will generally be a mixture of 6x4 beds, 4x4 beds and Ultimates. 2. Some events or specific panels may not have a choice of beds. 3. DMT bed will be 6 mm or 13mm.

TEAMS:

1. A team consists of a minimum of 3 females or 3 males and a maximum of 4 females or 4 males. At Regional Novice level ONLY, teams can be mixed gender.

2. Every member of the team may perform up to 1 compulsory and up to 1 voluntary routine. 3. Team members must be entering the same age group and the same grade of competition. 4. Please note the BG ruling regarding team members wearing uniform dress (Rule no. 6.5 in

the BG handbook). 5. Team members must be nominated on the club check in sheet. If team members are not

nominated before the start of their group, the first four on the gymNET entry form will be deemed to be ‘the team’.

WITHDRAWALS AND SUBSTITUTIONS

1. Amendments to an entry before the closing date will not incur a penalty and in the case of withdrawals, the entry fee will be refunded. Please note that any refunds are subject to a 3% deduction which is imposed by British Gymnastics. Entry fees are non-refundable after the closing date.

2. In the case of a club wishing to make a substitution (due to the withdrawal of a previous competitor entry), they can only do so up to 7 days before the event. Substitutions will not incur a fee however there is no guarantee that the substituted names will be included in the spectator programme.

3. A substitution is only permitted if it is for the same age group, the same gender group (where applicable), the same grade and from the same club as the original entry.

4. The club manager must ensure that any person used as a substitute meets all the entry requirements.

WARM-UP

1. For trampolining there will be an allotted time for warm up. Competitors are expected to form an orderly queue for this.

2. Competitors should warm up their 1st and 2nd routines within that time. There is no guarantee

Page 8: Trampoline Gymnastics Competition Handbook 2018

London Handbook Version 1 30/9/17

8

of a minimum number of warm ups. 3. A one touch warm up will be allowed before competing both set and voluntary routines in

programme order. 4. There will be one further warm-up for the final routine. 5. For DMT, there will be a timed warm up for the first two passes followed by a specific warm

up of two passes per competitor before competing. This will be repeated for those who are in the final.

COACH/PERFORMER QUALIFICATION:

1. On arrival at the competition, a suitably qualified coach must sign in for each club and hand in the club check in sheet. Check in is a busy time and officers cannot deal with complex queries concerning entries at this time.

2. Coaches signing in competitors must be qualified in the relevant discipline (TRA/DMT). 3. All competitors must be under the supervision of a suitably qualified coach who is a full

member of British Gymnastics. Persons not designated as officials and non-BG members are not allowed on the competition floor. The competition floor is the matted area around the trampolines and the officials’ area.

4. Competitors are only allowed to perform, in warm up or competition, those moves that lie within the qualification level of the coach who has signed in as taking responsibility for that club and is in the competition arena with them. The competition arena is taken to mean the judging area, the competition area or the audience section in the same hall. Should a separate warm-up hall be provided, performers may only use the equipment under the supervision of a suitably qualified coach.

5. Failure to have an adequately qualified coach present may mean competitors have to withdraw or change their voluntary routines and perform only those skills, which lie within the qualification syllabus of the coach that is present.

6. Please note that none of a club’s competitors will be allowed to warm up or compete unless an adequately qualified coach has signed in and is present in the competition arena.

RULES:

As per BG rules with any stated changes.

TARIFF SHEETS:

1. Tariff sheets MUST be submitted for EVERY competitor where required. Details of those required to submit sheets will be included in the return information for each event.

2. Tariff sheets must be fully completed in English or FIG notation. Where the card should be marked with asterisks to indicate required elements in 1st routines, this must be done by the competitor or coach before the card is handed in. Likewise, all elements that require a difficulty mark should have this written on the sheet before the card can be accepted. It is not the job of the difficulty judges to complete the card, their job is to confirm or change what is written as the routine is performed and display the difficulty score

3. Anyone who does not submit a tariff sheet when required to do so will not be able to compete.

4. It is a requirement for a suitably qualified coach to sign tariff sheets. Competitors cannot sign their own tariff sheets even if they are a qualified coach.

FINALS:

1. Finals will be held for groups as detailed in each event’s specific information. 2. Finals are for the top eight in each group. 3. Where there are less than eight competitors in a group all will compete in the final. 4. Finals will be from zero except where stated.

Page 9: Trampoline Gymnastics Competition Handbook 2018

London Handbook Version 1 30/9/17

9

5. Finals are run at the discretion of the organising committee and may be omitted/cancelled if necessary due to time constraints.

6. Any qualified person who chooses not to take part in a final will not be eligible to receive an award.

7. Competitors entered as a guest are allowed to compete in the final where qualified. However, they will be included as a supernumerary guest and will not be allowed to take an award.

RESULTS:

1. Where possible there will be screens depicting live results at each event but screens are not the definitive results. Clubs must make explicit to their members that event screens are provided as a courtesy and cannot be relied upon for places or qualification.

2. Scores, rank and qualifications are to be taken from signed hard copies, which will be displayed on the wall as soon as possible after the completion of each group.

3. Results will be emailed to clubs after each event and available on BG website:

https://www.british-gymnastics.org/find-an-event?year=2018&discipline=null&level=&region=13

GUEST ENTRIES:

1. Where guest entries are allowed or agreed, guests must pay the standard entry fee for each event entered but cannot take a trophy or be part of a team.

2. Guests are eligible to compete in the final (if they are in the top 8 after the first two rounds of trampolining or two passes for DMT) but this will not be at the expense of any London performers (e.g. if a guest is lying 5th after going into the final then the next placed London performer after the top 8 will also be in the final).

3. Guest’s scores will not count towards any regional or national qualifications/promotions/demotions.

4. Clubs must enter guests on their club entry form. Guest performers must be clearly indicated. Officials must be supplied based on the number of club entries PLUS the number of guest entries.

5. The club entering the guest must have a coach at the required level to look after the performer.

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE:

If you have a complaint about any aspect of the competition system it must be raised, in writing, through your club secretary as the Competitions Committee will not respond to complaints from gymnasts, coaches or parents. Please send the complaint to the Committee care of the Regional Competition Secretary [email protected] Complaints will be acknowledged within fourteen days of receipt.

must be capable of carrying out their designated task. Any official under 16 years of age must have a permission slip signed by their parent/guardian and this slip must be handed to the Judge Secretary on or before the day of the competition. The permission slip can be found at the end of this document.

7. Judges offered for DMT should be qualified or experienced in that discipline. 8. All nominated officials must be current members of British Gymnastics. 9. Any club nominating an official who is also competing MUST be able to replace that official

with someone of equal and approved caliber whilst that official is competing. Failure to do so will result in a penalty payment of £50.00 (payable on the day as per paragraph 15) for each missing official.

10. New clubs without suitably qualified officials will be allowed to enter 2 events without supplying qualified officials at the discretion of the committee. However, new clubs must supply the correct number of unqualified people to match their entry as above. It is the club’s responsibility to source suitable judge courses from the British Gymnastics website. The London region cannot guarantee to have a suitable course at any given time so candidates may need to look outside the region for courses.

11. New clubs will have two years grace from their first competition before having to supply a County level judge when entering 11 or more competitors. After that time a County level judge must be supplied.

12. New clubs will have four years grace from their first competition before having to supply a Regional level judge when entering 21 or more competitors. After that time a Regional level judge must be supplied.

13. For clubs struggling to provide officials with their entry, a surcharge of £50.00 can be paid to allow them to provide one less official than required. This surcharge must be paid with the competition entry or by the closing date. If the penalty is not paid by the closing date the organiser may reject the entry in whole or in part.

Page 14: Trampoline Gymnastics Competition Handbook 2018

London Handbook Version 1 30/9/17

14

14. After the closing date, any withdrawn or missing official that cannot be replaced will incur a penalty of £50.00 which must be paid within 48 hours of notification by the club or before the start of the competition (whichever is sooner).

15. In the case of an official not showing on the day without a replacement of equal and approved calibre being offered, the club will be required to pay a penalty of £50.00 per missing official. The penalty is payable at check in ON THE DAY either by cash or cheque. Failure to pay the penalty at the required time will result in the club having to withdraw performers back to the level of the number of officials that they have provided. No further entries would be accepted from that club until the penalty has been paid. The committee reserves the right to disqualify any club that does not supply their nominated official(s) on the day. Clubs must replace any official who cannot stay for the duration of the competition with someone of equal and approved calibre. Failure to do so will result in a penalty payment as above.

Sanctions regarding penalty payments (paragraph 15):

a) If cleared funds for all penalty payments are not received within 14 days of notification, the club will be ineligible for all future competitions and all London Trampolining activity until cleared funds for all outstanding penalty charges are received.

b) Any club whose penalty payment cheque is rejected will be subject to a further £20 penalty payment.

c) If any penalty payment cheques are returned unpaid, the club will have 7 days’ notification to provide cleared funds of the original sum plus the additional penalty payment of £20 as above. If cleared funds are then not provided within 7 days, an additional penalty of £30 will be applied.

d) Any club whose penalty payment cheque is rejected for a second time within 12 months will be subject to a penalty payment of £20 PLUS the London Region will then only accept cleared funds for future penalty payments. Cleared funds include BACS payments or cash.

e) Any club refusing to pay any outstanding penalty charges will be reported to London Gymnastics and British Gymnastics as defaulting on payment.

f) We reserve the right to ask for proof of transfer of funds therefore we suggest that clubs retain confirmation from their bank.

16. Unqualified officials can be expected to be used as competition marshals, manual recorders, computer operators or lunch assistants but please note that all officials may be used in any capacity and must appear correctly dressed. If an unqualified official is selected, it is the team manager’s responsibility to ensure that the person is competent of performing the required duty. On the spot training at competitions is not an option!

17. Any club failing to arrive at the required time with their official(s), or with official(s) incorrectly dressed, may be withdrawn.

18. Clubs are notified of selected officials with their competition information. It is the responsibility of the club manager to relay this information to their selected officials.

19. Reserve officials are expected to be at the competition, with the appropriate uniform, and report for duty at the required time. If the reserves are not required at the start of the event, they must remain available to be called upon at any time during the competition day.

20. It is not acceptable for clubs to write ‘A N Other’ for an official. Please supply a name for each official that your club is required to nominate so that they can be used in an appropriate capacity.

21. All judges, recorders and computer operators must wear BG uniform as below: Men: Navy blazer and/or jumper Navy trousers (not track suit/jogging bottoms) White shirt (not T-shirt, polo shirt), BG tie (or dark, single colour tie) Black shoes suitable for a gymnasium floor Ladies: Navy blazer and/or jumper

Page 15: Trampoline Gymnastics Competition Handbook 2018

London Handbook Version 1 30/9/17

15

Navy skirt or trousers (not track suit/jogging bottoms) White blouse (not T-shirt, polo shirt) Black shoes suitable for a gymnasium floor If it is cold in the centre and you need to wear a coat or warm jacket, please try to ensure it is a

dark colour. Marshals and spotters should wear track suit or similar and trainers. All reserves should bring BG uniform and track suit with them as they may be used in any capacity

as above. INAPPROPRIATELY DRESSED OFFICIALS MAY BE DENIED THEIR PLACE ON A

PANEL AND THE CLUB WILL THEN INCUR A PENALTY IF THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A SUITABLE SUBSTITUTE.

22. To assist those who wish to gain experience at judging, clubs may request for any qualified judge to sit alongside a panel as a shadow judge (subject to availability of space). The shadow judge would be required to judge all routines and complete the judge attendance record sheet. The London Region would recognise this as a valid competition for those wishing to progress to the next judging qualification. A shadow judge’s marks would be used in the case of a judge being absent from the panel.

23. Anyone who has attended a Swescore computer course can be nominated on the entry form as a computer operator and will be accepted as a qualified official (equivalent to Club Judge). Please note however that there will be a maximum of three computer operators required at a competition therefore clubs should not offer more than three people for these posts. The organisers reserve the right to ask clubs to offer a qualified judge instead of a computer operator if required or to use a computer operator in a different post.

24. Judges’ BG membership level must be – minimum Bronze for Club, County, Regional or Zonal judges and Gold, Joint Gold or Life for National and Brevet judges.

25. BG does not require judges to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check to judge at competitions, as the role that judges fulfil at the event no longer falls within DBS or Access NI Eligibility. However, some judges are actively involved in club gymnastics and may provide judging instruction to children in a training environment or carry out a supervisory role (or may complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check by virtue of another role they undertake e.g. coach). As not all judges use their qualification in the same way, it is the club’s responsibility to assess the role the judge is undertaking and determine whether the activities involved fall within the eligibility criteria for a Disclosure and Barring Service check. BG no longer requires all judges to complete safeguarding training but clubs should ensure any judge who supervises or instructs children has completed appropriate training.

26. The competitions committee will, where possible, facilitate a superior jury at competitions as per London Gymnastics’ recommendations.

27. The completed nominated officials’ form for all competitions must be emailed to Linda Lawrie at [email protected] by the closing date. Nomination forms can be found at the end of this document. Clubs not notifying their officials by the closing date cause great inconvenience to the organisers and as a consequence we will be issuing a £50 penalty for late notification before the entry is processed. In the event that the penalty is not paid and the officials’ list submitted within 3 days of notification, the entry will be invalid.

28. All enquiries regarding officials must be directed to Linda Lawrie. 29. From 1/1/17, under London Gymnastics policy, officials selected for London Region events

may claim travel expenses. i) Expenses are paid at the discretion of the TC/organising team ii) Only expenses which have been approved as below will be allowed a. Personal car travel will be paid at 35p per mile. b. Public transport claims must be accompanied by a receipt. c. Parking fees will not be paid unless prior approval is given. d. Taxi fares will only be paid in exceptional circumstances and will not be paid unless prior approval is given. e. Accommodation and subsistence costs will only be paid in exceptional circumstances

and will not be paid unless prior approval is given.

iii) A claimant may waive their right to receive expenses if they so wish iv) Where possible, claimants are to travel together, ie. share a car where possible, and only one expense claim submitted. v) Where a job is shared by more than one person throughout the day, only one claim for

that position will be accepted. vi) Clubs wishing to nominate any official travelling from outside the London Region must get

prior approval from the competition organiser or judge secretary for any expense claim before submitting that person as an official for an event.

vii) Right to refuse: London Trampolining reserves the right to refuse a claimant from taking up a duty, if it feels it is unable to meet the costs associated with the individual being present. viii) Claims must be emailed or handed to the judging secretary ([email protected]) within 14 days of the event for verification. A cheque will be posted to the claimant. ix) Officials must ensure that they list their name on the Judge Record Sheet for the task(s) carried out at the event. Failure to do so may render a claim invalid. x) London Trampolining reserves the right to increase competition entry fees at any time during the year to reflect any increase in outgoings

Any performer found to have downgraded will have their scores nullified for that competition.

London Grades / NDP Crossover: Performers may compete in both London pathways, should they choose to do so.

Where there are equal placings, equal points will be awarded.

The 15 performers with the highest number of points from each group will be offered a place in the Regional Championships. If anyone does not accept their place, the performer with the next highest score will be invited.

To encourage performers to progress through the system during the season, anyone who moves up one level during this time will retain 50% of their highest points score at their previous level (ie: the points are brought forward to the new level), which can count towards qualification for the Championships at the higher level.

Anyone who progresses by skipping a level will lose all points at their previous level.

EXAMPLE 1:

A gymnast enters two events at Novice level and scores 8 points at the first event then 20 points at the second event. The gymnast moves up to Elementary at their next competition. They take with them 50% of their highest points score at Novice. In this case 20 points is their highest score so they take 10 points with them.

EXAMPLE 2:

A gymnast enters two events at Novice level and scores 8 points at the first event then 20 points at the second event. The gymnast moves up to Intermediate at their next competition. No points are carried forward as they have progressed two levels in one leap.

Eligibility: Anyone competing at London Regional Novice, Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced will be eligible for the event.

Anyone competing in the League, NDP 8 or Elite may enter the Advanced group ONLY and qualify for the Championships or may apply to jump as a guest if not available to enter a qualifying event.

Officials: Officials for this event must be nominated on the entry form in the usual way. However, as the event is running over two days, officials must be available for both days if required.

London Closed (Men’s/Ladies Championships) 2018

ELIGIBILITY: Open to anyone who can meet the requirements of the first routine. All Grades will compete together.

TARIFF LIMIT: No tariff limit

AGE GROUPS: Men’s and Ladies only. Competitors must be a minimum of nine years of age in the year of competition.

TROPHIES: Trophies or medals will be awarded to the top three individuals and the top three teams (where applicable) in each group. Those receiving awards must be in club kit.

Ladies and Men will compete separately. Finals for the top eight in each group. Scores will be zeroed for the finals. In the event of there being eight or less competitors on the start list, finals

1st routine. 3. None of these two elements may be repeated in the voluntary routine

Appendix 2.

British Gymnastics Conditions for Photography at Gymnastic Events by persons other than BG accredited media and commercial photographers (Full form)

In the interests of protecting the welfare of children participating in gymnastics, photography (of any kind using any form of equipment) at any Gymnastic competition, display or other event run by British Gymnastics or by organisations registered with or affiliated to British Gymnastics is permitted only on the following conditions. The child protection concerns which give rise to a need for regulation on this subject are discussed within the British Gymnastics Child Protection Policy.

It is a condition of entry to the venue at which the event is being held that you agree to these conditions. If you are unwilling or unable to agree and comply with these conditions, you should not bring any form of camera into the venue at which the event is being held or make any use of any photographic equipment while in any part of the venue.

1. Photography includes any form of recording a visual image – still or moving regardless of the type of equipment used and includes the use of video, mobile phones, web-cams or digital imaging. Photo and image mean any form of visual image however recorded. 2. The Competition Organiser may at any time in his or her absolute discretion, direct that photos shall not be taken – either generally or by any particular person, at any particular time, of any particular kind, from or of any particular part of the venue, of any particular subject or using any particular equipment. 3. The Competition Organiser may require any person taking photos, or who he believes has been taking photos, to provide their full name and address and to provide evidence of their identity and address. 4. The Competition Organiser may at any time either during or after the event

a. require any person to allow and enable the Competition Organiser to view any images recorded; and

b. direct that any image which has been recorded shall be permanently deleted. 5. Where images cannot be viewed or deleted (due to being recorded on traditional film or for other reasons including a refusal to permit the images to be viewed or deleted) the Competition Organiser may require that the media or equipment on which the images have been recorded shall be given to the Competition Organiser. Media or Equipment taken by the Competition Organiser in these circumstances may be retained by the Competition Organiser after the event for a period of up to one week to allow the images to be examined and deleted. The cost of collection of the equipment from the Competition Organiser is the responsibility of the person from whom the equipment or media was taken. 6. Images shall only be taken and used in accordance with the British Gymnastics policies on the “Use of Photographs or Recorded Images”, “Use of Video, Film or Photography at Events” and “Use of Video as an aid to Coaching” contained in paragraphs 3.4 to 3.6 of the British Gymnastics’ Child Protection Policy as revised in May 2008. 7. Images recorded shall be used only for personal purposes and shall not be used, distributed or copied for any commercial purposes other than inclusion, with the permission of the gymnast, on websites or literature of BG registered clubs 8. Flash or any other form of supplementary lighting shall not be used at any time while gymnasts are warming up or competing. Photographers are responsible for ensuring that any automatic flash is disabled each time their equipment is turned on. If a flash facility cannot be disabled, the equipment must not be used. 9. Where the Competition Organiser believes that a person taking or assisting in the taking of photos is in breach of these conditions he or she may require that person to leave the venue. 10. References in these conditions to the Competition Organiser are to the person appointed to perform this role by the organisation arranging the event and include any person acting under his or her authority. If no one has been expressly identified as such, references to the Competition Organiser are to the person at the venue controlling or coordinating the running of the event on the day.
