This Guide belongs to a publication’s series fo-cusing the hottest disciplines of sport fishing, with the dual aim of illustrating the equipment and broaden the knowledge of the specific tech-nique. Feeder, Trolling, Boat Fishing are just a few examples; others will follow. All this would not be possible without the support of a qualified team of experts, which has mastered the matter to the finer details, but even in the absence of a precise mission.

It’s clear that the cultural growth of the anglers gives them the necessary skills to choose, to distinguish the equipment with a soul by those who only offer an attractive price or a luxury dress. Sia le Cassiopea, sia le Aeras sono dotate della fantastica vetta ripartita FH Rip Tip. Essa ha una struttura completamente tubolare, ed è costruita con una particolare tecnologia. Nella sua

porzione terminale, il carbonio alto modulo viene progressivamente sostituito con materiali meno rapidi, fino a divenire fiberglass per una spiccata sensitività.

Il porta mulinello ergonomico Fuji Gold, montato sulla Cassiopea, è in grafite per la massima leggerezza e resistenza. In fase di rimo-zione del mulinello, la sua particolare filettatura espelle la sabbia eventualmente accumulatasi all’interno della vite. Both Cassiopea and Aeras series feature the fantastic FH Rip Tip top section. It has a tubular structure, and it’s built through a special technology. In the top area, which is destined to detect fish bites, the high modulus carbon is gradually replaced by lower modulus mate-rials, up to become 100% fibreglass to get the required sensitivity.

The ergonomic Fuji Gold reel seat, fitted on Cassiopea, is made from graphite for maximum lightness and strength. During removal of the reel, its particular thread expels sand that may have accumulated inside the screw. Both Cassiopea and Aeras feature an exclusive handle grip that ensures optimum control of the rod during the execution of extreme powerful casts; the rounded rubber knob is valuable to hold the rod against the groin and to protect the butt end from abrasion.

The top of the top, the buttonhole of the Trabuc-co surf casting range cannot have a different name than Poetica, a name that gained reputa-tion at the highest level of the international com-petitions.

The new Poetica KW is something really special, it is not a “normal” evolution of the old Poetica, it is a true Copernican revolution. For Poetica KW range we selected only the best component, so as reel seat we used the ultra reliable Fuji DNPS Gold Label, entirely built from graphite to offer lightness, great strength, ergonomy and long life.

The special tip has been finely tuned to obtain an unique curve, showing a progressively softer action. The name of such tip is FH Rip Tip. It’s really pushing hard during the cast, while it’s also very sensitive when fishing, even with rough sea.

The rod’s butt ends with a soft rubber handle, which provides the perfect grip to control the rod during most quick and powerful casts.

RIDOTTO COEFFICIENTE DI FRIZIONE. La particolare forma appiattita della sezione trasver-sale della pietra in TORZITE addoppia la superficie a contatto con il filo rispetto al SiC. Grazie a questo la pressione è ridotta del 50% rispetto al SiC.

Rispetto agli anelli SiC, a parità di diametro esterno il foro passante risulta del 15% più ampio, con uno spazio superiore per un fluido scorrimento della lenza.

Grazie ad una drastica inclinazione dell’anello, Fuji ha risolto il problema dei grovigli di lenza, che da

sempre hanno penalizzato gli utilizzatori.

Fuji ha individuato una speciale ceramica con una superficie molto più liscia rispetto a

quella del SiC, che pesa il 40% in meno.

Thanks to a dramatically angled ring, Fuji solved the line tangle’s problem forever, as it prevents line

from wrapping around the frame.

Fuji engineers found the most advanced ceramic with a very compact structure and extremely smooth

surface, being 40% lighter than Silicon Carbide (SiC).

ULTRA LOW FRICTION. Torzite’s gently round cross section shape allow the ring to contact line in double the length compared to the Sic. Thanks to it, the pressure to the ring is reduced half compared to the Sic.

This knot is one of the most reliable ones for joining lines with big gap in di-ameters or made from different materi-als, such as monofilament and braided line. Easy to tie, it’s perfect to connect the mainline to the shock leader.

Questo nodo è uno dei più affidabili quando si devono unire fili con forte differenza di diametro o di consistenza, come un trecciato ed un nylon. Di sem-plice esecuzione, è perfetto per collega-re lo shock leader alla madre lenza.

Make a loop in the shock leader and run about 10 cm of the main line through the loop.

Tenere i tre fili fra pollice e indice, mentre si avvolge la lenza madre su se stessa e sui due lati dell’asola.

Hold the three lines between your thumb and index finger. Wrap the light line back over itself and both strands of the loop.

This rig is 260 cm long and carries three equal arms 120 cm long. When the sea is flat calm, it’s really the most effective. Key specification is the length of the arms, which provide mobility both on top water and on the bottom. Such behav-iour is the main reason of its popularity. Before describing how to build it up, let’s see the most common applications:

• It enables to face conditions of mixed fishing, as two hooks can work on the bottom, and one on top, or vice-versa.

• For top water fishing it’s absolutely the ideal solution, specially in case of deep waters.

Questa fantastica montatura la faremo ultra leggera con uno 0,25 mm.

• Agganciare il piombo con uno TRACES QUICK LINK ricoperto da un pezzo dimensionato di SILICON BLACK TUBE.

• Salendo di 5 cm inserire il primo snodo perlina+girella+perlina.

• Ripetere operazione per altre due volte, spostandoci di circa 125 cm, in modo da ottenere la configurazio-ne da tre ami.

• Il bracciolo alto è nella parte più alta del trave, pertanto vicino alla girella che collega il trave allo shock leader. Chidere il trave con una girella ROL-LING ROUND X-PATTERN.

• Attach the lead to the rig by a TRACES QUICK LINK, covered by a tailor made segment of SILICONE BLACK TUBE.

• Going up by 5 cm the first hooklink can be fixed by the usual combination of bead+swivel+bead, locked in place by two 8-knots.

PESCa a FoNDo / BottoM FiShiNGMirata alla caccia in prevalenza di mormore e orate. Per catturare le mormore utilizzate braccioli dello 0,18 mm. In caso di presenza di granchi aumentate il diametro del brac-ciolo, e dotatelo di una soluzione flottante. Per la cattura delle orate, a seconda della loro taglia, il bracciolo va rinforzato ulteriormente con un solido 0,40 mm. Ricordatevi che ognuna delle montature illustrate può essere fatta con i vari diametri a seconda delle esigenze.

The rig is perfect to catch Striped Sea Bream and Snappers. For Sea Bream, 0,18 mm is the ideal hooklink’s diameter, which should be increased and provided with floating elements in case crabs are present on the bottom. To catch Snappers, the hooklink must be stronger (up to 0,40 mm) when large specimen are targeted. Please keep in mind that adapting diameters to conditions is the key to success in most cases.

When the beach is unknown to us, or we don’t have any idea about target fish, this rig can draw us from the trouble. Two arms will fish on the bottom, while the upper one will fit a floating insert to search through top water layers. The alternative can be the reverse: two arms floating and one sinking in case there are signs of surface activity. Once the situation will be clear, the rig configuration will be fully oriented to produce the expected results.

Si tratta di una pesca “di ricerca”, quando non conosciamo la spiaggia o non abbiamo la minima idea delle prede da insidiare. Consiste nell’utilizzo di due braccioli che pescano a fondo e di uno che invece pesca a galla tramite l’ausilio di un accessorio flottante. L’alternativa consiste nel flottare due ami e farne lavorare solo uno a fondo, qualora avessimo notizie di prevalenza di pesci di galla piuttosto che di pesci di fondo. Una volta individuate le prime catture, saremo in grado di optare per montature mirate.

• Quando si impiegano esche volumi-nose, che potrebbero destabilizzare l’aerodinamicità della montatura.

• Quando il vento, soprattutto in combinazione con una o entrambe le condizioni di cui sopra, può incre-mentare il rischio di grovigli a livello dei terminali.

• When facing any sea condition, if the distance is the main point.

• When large size bait are being used, as their volume could dis-turb the flight and reduce casting distance.

• When wind, specially in combina-tion with one or both above condi-tions, can increase the hooklink to mainline’s tangle risk.

QUAnDo si UsA? WHen to Use it?Questo trave è mirato ad un solo obbiettivo: fare più metri possibile. Una soluzione che richiede pochi importanti accorgimenti.

This rig is mainly aimed at reaching the longest possible distance, a target which is achievable through a few, important tricks here listed.

• Short arms to reduce air drag during the flight.

• Bait Clips employment, which keep the arm close to the rig’s main line, releasing it when the whole thing lands on water’s edge.

• Avoid that hookbait slide along the arm under casting stress.

• Braccioli corti che riducano l’attrito delle esche durante il volo.

• Uso del bait clip, che consente al bracciolo di stare vicino al trave du-rante il lancio, e che si sgancia una volta che la montatura entra in acqua.

• Impedire che durante il lancio l’esca scorra lungo il bracciolo.

DescRiZione tRAVe / MAin Line sPeciFicAtion

Partendo dal basso abbiamo il piombo, che sarà di grammature pesanti; stia-mo parlando di almeno 150 grammi, sino a 180/200 grammi. L’intento della lunghissima distanza può sopraggiungere, ad esempio, anche quando abbiamo un forte vento frontale.

• Agganciare il piombo al ROLLING HOOKED SNAP, di misura robusta.

• Pochi centimetri più su monteremo un WIRE BAIT CLIP, sul quale pog-gerà l’amo innescato una volta che avremo il trave pronto per essere lanciato. Il bait clip può essere spostato a piacimento grazie alla guainetta che scorre lungo il trave, il modo da poter mettere perfet-tamente in tensione il bracciolo prima del lancio.

• Formare lo snodo, classico perlina+ girella+perlina, al quale sarà poi attaccato il bracciolo con l’amo.

• Anche in questo caso avanzano altri 50 cm di trave. Soluzione che impedisce al bracciolo alto di ingarbugliarsi con l’attacco dello shock leader.

• Connect the lead to the ROLLING HOOKED SNAP, of good size.

• Stepping up by a few centimetres, add a WIRE BAIT CLIP, which will hang the baited hook just before casting.

• The BAIT CLIP can be moved up and down the line, thanks to the silicone tube, so that the hooklink can be cor-rectly tensioned.

• At 50 cm from lead, the first arm can be linked to main line by the usual bead+swivel+bead combination.

• The second hook is then linked 50 cm upwards, and another 50 cm remain free before the upper swivel, so that the 45 cm arm won’t tangle with it.

Starting from the bottom, we have the lead, which of course should be heavy, mean-ing from 150 to 180-200 grams. The long distance conditions also replicate when the wind blows in front of us.

bRAccioLi / HooKLinK

Per questa soluzione sono consigliati braccioli non eccessivamente sottili. Partiremo da un morbido 0,22 mm XPS POWER PLUS. In caso di pesca diurna potremo utilizzare il FLUOROCARBON SALT WATER oppure il T-FORCE XPS FLUO-ROCARBON. Vedi pagina 28.

This rig works well with relatively thick hooklinks, for example a soft 0,22 mm XPS POWER PLUS. In case of daytime fishing FLUOROCARBON SALT WATER or T-FORCE XPS FLUOROCARBON come into play. See page 28.

UTILIZZO DI POP-UP STICKHOW TO USE POP-UP STICK

Anche in questo caso un segmento di POP UP aiuta la mobilità dell’esca. Esso può essere “cucito” per una maggiore stabilità in volo.

Si può utilizzare anche una FLUO ROUND BEADS RED, bloccata da un LINE STOPPER, oppure per la pesca notturna il LUMINOUS FLOAT STOP ROUND. Qualunque soluzione sceglierete, questa andrà posizionata vicino all’esca: l’importante è che l’esca rimanga bloccata bene sull’amo.

Also in this case, a segment of POP UP enhan-ces the hookbait’s mobility. It can be “sewn” to increase its stability during flight.

In order to keep the hookbait well into position, in spite of big casting pressure, as well as adding some attractive colour contrast, a FLUO ROUND BEAD RED can be added on top of the bait, maybe locked by a LINE STOPPER.
