Customer statement / workshop findingsCustomer statement / workshop findingsCustomer statement / workshop findingsCustomer statement / workshop findingsThe vehicle goes into emergency operation. The engine and glow warning light come on. The entry "P0101 air mass meter G70- implausible signal" is logged.Technical backgroundTechnical backgroundTechnical backgroundTechnical backgroundThe values of the intake air temperature sender G42 and the intake air sender G31 (Duo sensor) are used to calculate the model air mass. This makes the measured value of the air mass meter plausible. If the values of the G42 are wrong, but within the measuring range of the sensor, the measured air mass as implausible recognised.

    -Production changeProduction changeProduction changeProduction changeMeasureMeasureMeasureMeasure

The value must be similar to the outside temperature. Deviations down (e.g. to -40C), or up (e.g. 130C) are implausible and point to a faulty Duo sensor G31/G42 for boost pressure/intake air temperature. In this case check the Duo sensor as well as the air mass meter fault.Check for external marks, such as green (copper) deposits and irregularities/deposits on the pins and in the socket.Example of temperature values:Outside temperature = 23C -> boost air temperature about. 30-35C value correctOutside temperature = 23C -> boost air temperature 130C value implausible

    1. Note the entries on the Duo sensor. e.g. P0111- sender for intake air temperature -G42- implausible signal.2. Note especially the temperature value Param_InletAirTempe on the 5th digit in the environmental conditions

of the entry on the air mass meter (illustration 1 and 2). Compare this value with the weather when the entry was made.

    1. Check the air mass meter and the boost air system according to the guided fault finding.2. If the temperature value in the environmental conditions is implausible and no obvious fault can be found on

the boost air system or air mass meter, replace the Duo sensor (part numbers see Parts information). The air mass meter can remain in the vehicle.
