Helping students to make readjustment to the personal life style,
social interaction, emotional dilemma, academicals problem and self-development
Helping students getting to form the aim of study, learning how to learn and time management in learning process

Helping students to solve their problems and making the appropriate decision
Helping students shaping their
personality positively
Helping the parents in monitoring their children in school

Helping GC Teacher carry out program in the school
Identify the problematic students and refer to the GC Teacher
Helping GC Teacher monitoring the progress of the student(client)
3.1 Collection of Student’s Information
Before a case can refer to the CGT and proceed in a counseling session, Information of the student(client) is crucially important
There are 2 types of techniques in collecting information:(a)Testing Methods(b)Non-Testing Methods
TESTING METHODS
Academicals Achievement Test
can be either summative or formative ex: UPSR, PMR, SPM , STPM PBS
TESTING METHODS
Aptitude Test to identify the natural
tendency, fitness , suitability ex: IQ Test, EQ Test Differential Aptitude Test (DAT)
TESTING METHODS
Career Interest/Preference Test to justify the preference of
student in the multiple career disciplinary.
ex: Career Assessment Inventory (CAI), Holland Career Test
TESTING METHODS
Personality Test
to explore the aspect of affective, motivation, emotion and attitute
ex: The Mooney Problem Check List (MPCL) Sidek’s Personality Inventory (SPI)

Screening Test to serve the purpose of
selecting candidate ex: Screening Test for IPGM applicants.
TESTING METHODS
Diagnostic Test to explore the cause of the
weakness in skill learning among the students in order to help teachers to form a strategic lesson plan
NON-TESTING METHODS
Interviewcarry out for getting to know more about the back ground of the student
Objective – focus – question – conducive setting – friendly interaction – content recorded – analyze – interpretation - report
NON-TESTING METHODS
Observationnormally to observe affective and psychomotor changes of thestudent in/out side the classroom
There are 2 types of observation:a. Check list - yes/nob. Likert Skill - skill of 1,2,3,4,5
NON-TESTING METHODS
Anecdotenormally being used to record the observation…items such as date, location, incidents, and comment of the observer
