Epidemic of Obesity Communicable ?

Yes and No

Global status report on noncommunicable diseases (NCD) 2010This report … particular attention … in low- and middle-income countries, which … bear nearly 80% of the burden from diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and chronic respiratory diseases. The health consequences of the worldwide epidemic of obesity are also addressed.

A large percentage of NCDs are preventable through the reduction of their four main behavioural risk factors: tobacco use, physical inactivity, harmful use of alcohol and unhealthy diet.

Non communicable diseases are common issues in the world and can be reduced by preventive medicine using easy-to-use technologies with open standardsThe first medical BAN standard IEEE02.15.6 is introduced for medical/health-related devices and sensorsBAN-enabled Portable Clinic and the service is a good candidate to provide really usable functions for preventive medicineExperimentally use open standards, provide feedbacks to the standards, and then deploy everywhere
