SKP Progress

issues that may be of relevance like

study habits, time management

etc…

To help students at beginner’s level

adjust with working style,

working in SKPs.

To help students in their final years

SVE Initiatives

One of the significant developments has been the introduction of Vocational Aptitude System or VAS. This tool enables gauge the student’s inherent

aptitude thereby channeling prospective students towards trades they are most

suited for.

Importantly it would help tackle the issue of increasing drop-out rates observed in some

trades due to a mismatch between the candidate’s innate ability and the trade that he

or she is trained in.

The process of test development was conducted for 501 candidates covering 4 trades

namely,

Printing

Dialysis Technician

CNC Machine Operations

Welding

7 ability tests developed and carried out across these trades namely, Hand-Eye

Coordination, Colour Distortions Identification, Colour Matching, Concentration, Control

Precision, Abstract Reasoning, and Attention. Pilot testing and analysis of these 7 tests

has been completed and relevant changes incorporated into the test design.

With a view to formulate similar tests for our other Verticals, we are in the process of

identifying representative abilities for trades such as Travel and Tourism, Sales and

Retail Management.

We also have Train the Trainer programs conducted for our B.Voc General

Education Component. These sessions ensure that our teaching quality standards

are not compromised and Knowledge transfer methods are identical across the

board.

2 3

Counselling Service is another

notable achievement initiated for SVE

students. The service was kick-started

for Apex Dialysis Technology course

and plans underway to implement for

other verticals.
