The Kindness of A Farmer.
On October 1, 2014 I was driving from Elkton to Middletown on Bunker Hill Road, whensuddenly a deer darted across the road. I veered sharply to avoid hitting it, but found myself in the deepestculvert in Delaware. My little Toyota wasresting on its side with thetwo wheels on the driver’sside in midair. I climbedout. Many cars drove byincluding the powercompany that wereworking nearby, but neverstopped. A farmer who washarvesting corn nearbydrove his combine over toasses my predicament. Heconcluded that my carcould not be pulledforward or backward.Without saying a ward, hedrove off in his combine, but returned shortly in apickup truck with somelumber. He placed thelumber strategically, andthen jacked up my car so itcould now touch theground. Now I was able tomaneuver the car back onthe road. As he departed, he said, “ Next time bring your shotgun, so you can get that deer before it getsyou.”
Has someone been kind to you this past month? Send a thank you note!!!

If you drove by Trinity Church on Saturday afternoon you might havebeen surprised by the number of the parishioners sniffing around outsideour open door. The small congregation of about 10 dogs and their ownerstook part in our Annual Blessing of the Animals, in observances of theFeast of St. Francis of Assisi.
