JOYS & CONCERNS We hold Judy Temme and family in prayer at the death of Dick. The memorial service for Dick was at Federated on Thursday, February 1. We hold the family of Hanson Elliott in prayer. Hanson passed away January 29th. The memorial service for Hanson was at Solt-Wagner Funeral home on Saturday, February 3. Please pray for Myra Kuncl, great-granddaughter of Sharon Kuncl, who is in the ICU at Columbus Hospital. Please pray for Janet Lyon as she recuperates from leg surgery at Columbus Hospital.

Please pray for Margaret Trew as she has transitioned from her home to Morys Haven.

Education Hour After Sunday Worship Sunday School for pre-K to high school are welcome to Christian formation and fellowship at 10:30 a.m. in

the Education Center &Upstairs Youth Rooms

Adult Education Hour in the Sanctuary at 10:45 am welcomes all adults! Today the video series “Fear of

the Other” asks the question is there are distinctively Christian way to engage the ‘outsider’ or ‘stranger’? This study will help participants understand how to recognize and re-train natural fears of difference.

NEXT SUNDAY - February 11 Elona Street-Stewart, Synod Executive, will preach

9:30am Service and lead Adult Education. Elona previously served as the Synod Associate for Racial-Ethnic Ministries and was a volunteer church leader since 1980. In 2001, she was elected to the St. Paul

School Board, and became the first American Indian elected to an urban school district in Minnesota.

Ash Wednesday is February 14 Federated will host this year’s Ecumenical Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. with our neighbors from 1st Methodist, Grace, & St. Luke’s. Invite a friend to begin Lent at this meaningful worship service.

Great Prayer of Thanksgiving and the Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Communion of God’s People Congregants are served communion in the pews. Please hold the bread and cup to partake together. Federated celebrates an open table, meaning all who trust in Christ are welcome to receive communion. Children are welcome to receive communion with the permission of parents and guardians as part of the family’s on-going conversations about faith. Only grape juice is served for communion, though the service sometimes refers to “wine.” Gluten-free wafers are at the center of bread trays. After partaking, please place cups in pew holders.

Prayer after Communion (Unison) All: Gracious God, you feed us with the bread of life, and renew us for your service. Help us to share Christ’s invitation to be faithful disciples going forth from this table. Amen.
