Over 200 trophies were awarded at the conclusion of the con- vention which attracted about 1200 contestants from five Midwestern states. Consolidation of all one-room'schools in Rockcast le County into f ive rural school centers has been approved by the Rockcast le County Board of Education.

The second phase of the rural consolidation will take place at the beginning of tl*e fal l term, according to Clyde Linvi l le , a ss i s tan t superintendent.

The first phase of the pro-gram was completed during the past term of school. At that time, Buffalo, Gum Springs, and whitaker were consolidated into a two-room • school at Blue Springs.

Sowder School was con-solidated with Sand Springs in a two-room school .

Orlando and Maple Grove Schools were consolidated into a four-room school af -ter the school at Orlando borned.

The second phase of the school consolidation wil l see the following changes :

Well Hope will be consol-idated in the two-room New Chestnut Ridge School.

Red Hill and Cave Ridge children will go to Livings-ton .

Poplar Gap. Owen Allen, Johnetta , and Cove . s t u d -ents will go to the four-room Climax School.
