First and foremost – HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope your Christmas holidays were wonderful and that your New Year has started off with a good BANG! Just about everyone starts off their New Year with resolutions… normally resolutions we can’t keep. The normal ones are lose weight, exercise more, change jobs, be nicer to others, do more volunteer work, etc. For us, we just want to continue getting better and better… to be the BEST motorcycle magazine we can be for the state of Texas! The motorcycle calendars are a little quiet this month, very little going on in anticipation of a very cold first month of the year. As things start warming up, don’t forget to send us events going on in your area. Basic listings are FREE and an upgrade to a Premium Event Listing (bold, add up to 75 words describing the event, and pre-printed on our pull out calendar) is ONLY $15/event.We continue to look for great content for the magazine, with the emphasis on where to go and what to do while out riding. This can be covering events, outlining a great ride for our ride map (returning soon), biker friendly places with great food and cold drinks, or anything else you might do when you climb on your steel steed. We accept articles and photos from everyone! And if you’re interested in committing to four submissions a year, consider our Correspondent Program. Contact me for the details.Keep those motors warm and in-tune for when the riding season begins again. Hopefully, we’ll have an early start like we did in 2014!Ride safe... and ride with THUNDER!Shelly “TX Dragonfly” HoranCo-Owner and Managing Editor, Thunder Roads Texas and Owner, Top of Mind Marketing [email protected]

y now our readers know that we love promoting American made products. Dynacycle Oil, established in 2003,

is a biker owned and operated lubricant manufacturer headquartered in central New Jersey. Their product, Dynacycle 20W-50 Oil, is a premium semi-synthetic engine and transmission oil made in the USA. The oil is specifically formulated for V-Twin and XL engines although it can be used in all 4-stroke air and water cooled motorcycle and performance engines that require a 20W-50 motor oil.We have run many different oils in our bike looking for the best. We have even written positive reviews about other oils. While it is extremely difficult to compare oil in real life applications, there are definitely those that outperform the standard oil DynaCycle Oil is one that really does outperform the competition. First we tried the Dynacycle oil just to see how the bike ran with it. We were surprised; we really liked it. The bike noticeably easier and smoother to shift. We opted to compare the top of the line Harley-Davidson (HD) oil to Dynacycle Oil. First we purchased an electronic heat gun, changed the oil to the best HD oil – after all isn’t that the easiest and most convenient thing to do at your Dealership! After three days of interstate riding for 6 hours a day, stopping only for fuel and bathroom, the HD oil temperature readings averaged 147-170F. This test was done in August with outside temperatures averaging between 82-96 degrees with no rain. Then we had the oil changed to Dynacycle Oil and repeated the same process, same roads, and same weather. The DynaCycle Oil temperatures 123-140F, a full 20-30 degrees cooler! Amazing! The Dynacycle Oil Company reports that their product, Dynacycle 20W-50 Oil, has once again out performed Screamin’ Eagle Syn3 during independent dynamometer testing under accelerated conditions. The company also states Dynacycle Oil is guaranteed to reduce engine temperature up to 50F thus extending piston and bearing life. Its friction reducing formula increases oil pressure, horsepower, torque, and gas mileage! With your engine

running cooler, and with an increase in oil pressure and horsepower, it stands to reason that it will increase your MPG. It did on our test rides!Dynacycle Oil has one of the best High Temperature/ High Shear Viscosity numbers in the industry with a 6.12, which beats many of the top selling motorcycle oils on the market today. Dynacycle Oil also offers better protection since it also has one of the best “Wear Ball Test” numbers in the industry with a 0.31, which beats the top 5 selling motorcycle oils on the market today. Years of independent testing have proven over and over that Dynacycle Oil will reduce friction and engines wear a minimum of 50%.We weren’t satisfied with just our research or with what the Dynacycle Oil Company declares. We found Jeff Jerome, owner of High Performance Cycles, who has conducted an independent dynamometer testing at his shop. Jeff, a graduate of MMI-Orlando and Advanced Dyno Operations, has over 20 years’ experience in the motorcycle repair and performance industry. Using a 2010 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic as a mule, testing was conducted on a Dynojet 200i dynamometer. Other than changing the oil and oil filter, no further changes were made to the motorcycle before or during each phase of testing. Both tests were conducted at an engine temperature of 190 degrees. With an outside room temperature of 73.7, the dynamometer measured 59.0 horsepower during the Sreamin’ Eagle Syn3 testing phase. During the Dynacycle Oil testing phase, the dynamometer measured 61.2 horsepower even though the outside room temperature had increased to 75.5 degrees. That’s an increase of 2.2 more horsepower by simply changing the oil from Screamin’ Eagle Syn3 to Dynacycle. Jeff Jerome said, “I was pretty surprised with the test results. I didn’t expect Dynacycle Oil to perform so much better than Syn3.”In looking for other reviews, Steven K. states “I used Mobil One and Amsoil for years. The Amsoil gear oil made my Harley shift smoother. I used Mobile One in the engine. I’ve switched

to Dynacycle a couple of years ago and the tranny shifts as smoothly as ever and the engine runs strong and cool. I can’t recommend it highly enough” In conclusion, we listened to what the Dynacycle Oil Company claimed, performed our own comparison tests with Dynacycle Oil, as well as heard the results from others who have run their own methods of testing Dynacycle Oil. Two Wheel Thunder TV strongly believes in, promotes and furthermore, uses Dynacycle Oil.Look them up at Dynacycleoil.com and run your own test. We are confident you will be impressed with Dynacycle Oil and with their company. Two Wheel Thunder TV would love your feedback on this amazing oil. Send any comments to [email protected].

reetings Piglets, I bet the phrase on your lips is “Thank God the holidays are over”. So now that the holidays have past, may I ask

you a question? Have you already broken your New Years resolution? Don’t worry about it, Rainman always tries to get me to make one resolution every year and it’s usually to stop drinking beer, and that only lasts about two minutes. It’s January, the weather is chilly, and you are probably sitting around wondering what to do next. The trees are bare and everything outside looks brown and lifeless. Even with a slight chill in the air, you may think twice about having to put chaps on before you ride. Perhaps you even feel your bike is riding a l i t t l e

slow from all of those holiday pounds you put on. What to do, what to do? Well, just think of all the rides, rallies, and rendezvous you can plan for 2015! The Massacre is coming up – always a favorite – and then, of course, there’s Bike Week in Daytona; Carts, Bikes & Babes Rally on Lake Somerville. There’s the ROT Rally in June, then the 75th Anniversary Sturgis Rally, and of course, the Lone Star Rally in November. All guaranteed to be good times. Here’s another idea; how about riding to Legislation Day? Yep, it’s coming up on January 26. That’s always a good thing to attend. You

could go to Austin on Sunday and

c o m e

join the rest of us and attend the COC& I meeting, spend the night, party up and head over to meet your duly elected officials on Monday. Why? What is it that makes Legislation day so important? The answer is simple; Legislation day is our time to stand up for our rights as bikers. It is our chance to meet with the folks at the state capital and to remind them we are here, that we have rights, and that we want to keep them and protect them. Our elected officials have an obligation to know what it is that we, the people, want from our government and this is another opportunity to let your voice be heard.Protecting our rights is no laughing matter. Whether it’s biker rights, or other personal rights, little by little, our rights are being whittled away by people who don’t want others to experience true freedom. If we don’t do something about it

now, one day soon we will wake up and they will be gone. The government here in the

U.S. is supposed to be “Of the people, For the people and By the people” The political parties are not supposed to run the country, the states, or the local governments on their own or

with their own agendas. They are supposed to do as the people want, and that means us. We are the people; you, me and the guys looking over your shoulder as you read this article.Consider these questions and put some serious thought into how you would answer them. • What do you believe in?• What will it take to make America great once again? How would you feel if you were told you couldn’t ride your bike except on certain days in certain areas, or perhaps you couldn’t ride your bike at all because it is too dangerous? If you were told that, it would mean that someone else decided what is or is not good for you. Participating in Legislation Day is one way to

Page 10 H January 2015 ThunderRoadsTexas.com

Embracing the New Year!

Page 11: Thunder Roads Texas - January 2015

help prevent that situation. There is another way to look at this, too. We all know that bikers have a bad rap to begin with. When you belong to a club (notice I said club and not gang) and you place a patch on your jacket, you have just painted a target on your back for law enforcement to pull you over and harass you. Is that fair? No it is not. Hey, look, we all know that 99% of bikers are law abiding citizens; we don’t cause trouble or commit crimes. So why harass the bikers? The answer is simple and it’s called “Freedom”. Bikers know what freedom is and we know how to experience it. Freedom runs through our veins, our hearts, and our minds. Freedom makes us strong men and women. Freedom gives us the power to think for ourselves and that knowledge of what is going on is a powerful tool. People who know and understand what true freedom is are a danger to government. Take a moment and think about that last statement. Government is all about power and control. What drives government? Money! Those who control the money, control the power. Our government wants us to believe that we

cannot survive without their help. They want us to believe we cannot make it on our own. Why? So that we keep them in power by giving them our votes. What is it that makes a politician want to be in politics? Number one is “The power” and number two is “The ability to make money for themselves and for others”. And to do just that, they have to have control over the people. How do you have control over someone? You take away their freedom, that’s how. That is the real reason why we should all attend Legislation Day at the Capital on January 26. We all need to be there to remind our elected officials that we the people are their boss, we employ them. They are supposed to do what we elect them to do. We want our freedoms, we want our rights, and we need to remind them of those facts. For those of you who are not part of the Texas Confederation of Clubs & Independents (COC&I), you really should be a member. The Texas COC&I, along with the U.S. Defenders, work hard to protect the right of ALL bikers. And for you Independents out there who are not members, the Coalition of Independent Riders (COIR) is a great way to make your voice heard.

Rainman is the COIR Commander for Region 7 San Antonio. If any of you independents have any questions about COIR or how you can join up in your area, you can contact him anytime. He can get you in touch with your the local area contacts. You can reach him at [email protected]. We all need to be men and women of honor. Honor is what our forefathers wanted our country to have. And we all need to be a part of the team, so I hope you will be at Legislation Day with us. My final question to you is, “Are you going to protect your rights?”It is the start of a new year and the start of a new riding season so make sure your bike is in top shape for safe riding. Be sure to change the oil, check those tires, and have your inspection and registration up to date so we can keep the chrome side up and the rubber side down. Let’s make sure we will always have the ability to ride free and not be harassed. As always my good friends, I hope to see you on the road and have a chance to get to know you in 2015. Ride HARD or stay home.

Requiem to a CarbMy garden tiller coughed, spit, sputtered, and died a few weeks back. I’d had no significant problems with her to this point in her 32 years of life and I didn’t expect this time to be much different. After a few days in the shop, my favorite shade-tree mechanic informed me of the worst – she was gone. Yep, the condenser had failed and fried the entire electrical system. To compound the problem even further, as he was installing a second set of points and a reclaimed condenser he had taken from an engine in his junk pile, the carburetor fell apart in his hands. Rust, metal fatigue, and years of vibration resulted in catastrophic failure. The really bad news, he informed me, was that, at 32 years old, there were few mechanical or electrical parts still available for the engine. The tiller unit was intact and in good condition, but to have a working tiller I was going to have to fork over $800 for a new engine and the installation! Well, after the initial shock, I wrote him a check and got the ol’ girl up and running. This set of events got me to thinking about my motorcycle. I ride a 2011 Road King – electronic fuel injection, security system, LED lights, fly-by-wire technology, etc. I take good care of my bikes but one of these days some part of that electrical system is going to fail. And one of these days, the parts won’t be around to replace the parts that are broken. Heaven forbid if that “onboard computer” ever fails… then nothing will work! It almost takes a college degree in electrical engineering just to “map” the fuel management system in most bikes these days. Jeez, will it ever end? Who knows?Alas, I began to reminisce about the days of old when bikes were simpler – points, plugs, a kick-start engine, and a mechanical carburetor; days when

parts were easy to find and most of us could get a bike up and running without a whole lot of trouble – bailing wire and duct tape, so to speak. I wondered to myself if we would ever see those days again. Probably not. As I sat in the

garage starring at my bike, I lifted another cold one and said to myself, “What’s that loose wire doing hanging underneath my bike?”

On October 4, riders from across Texas gathered at the 11th street bar in Bandera TX for the 4th annual Texas

Hill Country Frogs for Freedom benefit run. The Frogs for Freedom organization is made up of past and present Navy Seals with 16 members serving on the board of directors. There are active chapters in every state in the United States with an estimated 3400 members nationwide. Although this is the 4th year for the hill country run, the organization has been in operation for 12 years. They not only raise money through poker run types of events but also from silent and traditional auctions and donations. Last year around $16,000 was raised from this event. The $30 per person fee for this year’s event included two different rides, a BBQ meal, and all day music provided by the Natalie Rose band and Ty Phillips and the Southwind band. With an incredible collection of donated auction items that included a specially designed silver belt buckle, organizer Fred “Doc” Cox reported that $26,260.00 was raised at the event. The event not only welcomed the lone wolf rider but patched and non-patched clubs to participate. Some of the clubs that participated this year included Christian MC, Sons of Liberty Bandera MC, Combat Vets MC, and Fire and Iron. Everyone enjoyed the day listening to music, giving generously to the auction, and visiting with friends, both old and new. I, myself, had the honor of meeting veterans from several organizations and I was also able to visit with Rudy Boesch, former Navy Seal and two time TV reality show Survivor star. The purpose of the organization is to raise money to assist widows and children of fallen Navy Seals and special warfare combat crew warriors, either in combat or training. The money is disbursed through an application process and helps to pay household bills as well as provides scholarships and college tuitions worldwide. For more information check out www.udtseal.org or www.texasfrogsforfreedom.com.Ride safe and hope to see you down the road.ContactFred “Doc” Cox3290 Broad Oak DriveBandera, Texas 78003

The Hill Country is known for twisty roads, breath taking views, great bike stops, and awesome people. When it comes to providing disadvantaged children a nice Christmas, bikers in the Texas Hill Country do not disappoint. VFW Riders Unit 23, Post 1480, sponsored a toy run on November 22nd. It was a cold, wet day. Now we won’t complain about the rain, but only two lone solders came out to ride. This writer, as hard it is to admit, did not venture out that day either. Even with only a few participants, the run made $200.00 and provided toys for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Project. The Christian Motorcycle Association local chapter was there in full force and everyone enjoyed a day of fellowship. “Any time bikers get together for a great cause, is a time of great joy” stated spokesman, Fred Pentz, Corps Sergeant Major Coordinator of the Salvation Army Motorcycle Ministry. Fred invited everyone to come out for the VFW Riders’ food drive run scheduled in the spring.

The first weekend of December had two scheduled toy runs. One of those runs began back in October with the 22nd annual Johnson City Pig Roast Rally. Now anyone who lives in the Hill Country knows about the pig roast! This is about the best little rally there is. They have classic bike games, poker run, live music, raffles, vendors, and the best pig roast you have ever eaten. The roasted pig and scrumptious side dishes were certainly mouth watering! Every year it rains during the Pig Roast. You will hear bikers say, “It isn’t the Pig Roast unless it rains.” Well, this year was no different. Even with the threat of rain, on the weekend of October 10th, 600 bikers braved the elements and came out for some good old fashion rally fun. As tradition for the past twenty four years, all proceeds from this rally went toward purchasing gifts for the children who reside at the Cherokee Children’s Home. The children prepared a wish list and when the rally ended, the many volunteers went to work. They purchased the gifts each child asked

for, wrapped them with loving care, and had them ready for Santa. On December 6th, a caravan of motorcycles led by Santa Claus himself headed to the children’s home. The kids opened their gifts, enjoyed a meal with the bikers, and got bike rides as well – safely of course! Good time had by all. It was reported there were over 100 bikes that rode this year. Mark your calendar to attend Pig Roast 2015, October 9–11. You won’t regret it.At this same time, another group of good Samaritans were heading to Medina Children’s Home, Arms of Hope, with a load of toys for those boys and girls. The Sons of Liberty Motorcycle Club Bandera had fish fries, held auctions, and collected donated toys to provide the children who reside at the home a Christmas to remember. The Belle support group, who are the significant others and wives of the patched club members, made gift baskets for the forty Arms of Hope mothers who also reside at the home. Some 41 bikes made the ride to the home. The Sons of Liberty MC Bandera and their brothers from the Blanco chapter were the largest group attending but there were many other riders who came along. The kids enjoyed visiting with the bikers and having a picture taken on the seat of a Harley or two! The toys were brought in by an enclosed trailer and taken to a secret location so Santa could check his list and insure the right toy wnet to the right child!. Wild Bill, President Sons of Liberty MC Bandera chapter and spokesman for the group, said “This is our first year doing this and we will do it again next year”. In the beauty of the hills that we call home, it makes us proud that local bikers take time out of their busy lives, and through their love of riding, take care of families in need. As Wild Bill told me “We are all blessed here”.

Tens of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts rolled into beautiful, historic Galveston, Texas, November 6-9, 2014, for what has become the largest 4-day rally in the country, the Geico Lone Star Rally (LSR). Near perfect weather from midday on Thursday through Sunday evening and, an expanded events schedule,

offered riders more stellar views and more entertaining activities than ever before.

The 2014 Lone Star Rally kicked off into high gear early on Thursday with a Custom Sports BikeShow at the Seawall and, an all-new Truck & Jeep Show at Pier 21, followed by opening ceremonies of The Wall That Heals.

Opening and closing ceremonies honoring “The Wall That Heals” was a center point of the 2014 LSR event. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall was on display throughout the weekend and was visited by thousands of rally goers. Color guards from local Ball High School helped open the ceremonies with singer Jared Blake performing the National Anthem and, City officials offered welcome to the many visitors to the island who have strong ties to our Veterans community. The weekend was filled with poignant moments seeing friends and family of fallen heroes look to the wall for comfort and recognition of the supreme sacrifice paid by their loved ones.

Thursday evening saw a huge turnout for the official Welcome Party event at Devil’s Cut Saloon and thousands of people flanking the Budweiser Stage at Saengerfest Park for a concert by Journey former lead vocalist Steve Augeri. This year’s Lone Star Rally offered more than 38 free live concerts on two stages headlined by Augeri, two shows by The Hairball Band, and a Sunday afternoon concert by TV’s Counting Cars star, Danny “Count” Koker and his Count’s 77 Band. From Cold Hard Cash’s Johnny Cash Tribute act to Mustang Sally to local favorite the Zach Tate Band, the Lone Star Rally offered free, non-stop music all weekend long.

LONE STAR RALLY

Page 26: Thunder Roads Texas - January 2015

There were escorted rides and poker runs throughout the four day event. Outlaw Dave’s annual Ranch Ride roared onto Galveston Island Saturday, bringing over 500 riders and passengers to the Rally. The Ranch Ride raises money for the Stevens & Pruett Ranch for horses and children.

Riders of all ages could be seen strolling the 100s of vendor tents and manufacturer displays as well as checking out the newest model Chevy trucks at the Houston Area Chevy Dealers display. Bike Shows, an all-new Bike Games event and three different car & truck shows also helped to make for a weekend ideal; whether a 2-wheel or 4-wheel fan.

Richard Granado of San Antonio, Texas had a particularly great weekend having his name pulled as the lucky winner of this year’s Geico Motorcycle giveaway!

The Gieco Lone Star Rally is made possible in part by sponsors, Geico Motorycycle; the Houston Area Chevy Dealers, Ole Smokey Moonshine, Amsoil, Bayer HealthCare, Jim Beam, Rock Star energy drink, Budweiser, Thunder Roads Texas, and many others.

Additionally, the rally couldn’t be pulled off without the Christian Motorcyclists Association helping with entry to The Strand and the Seawall and traffic control. Many thanks goes out to this wonderful organization.

Fans are already posting “Can’t wait for next year!” And we couldn’t agree more! Stay in tune with the Lone Star Rally news by downloading the official smartphone app, liking us on Facebook, and visiting LoneStarRally.com!

Whiskey D. is a Texas Outlaw Music outfit that has been tearing up stages with entertaining and energetic performances at festivals and motorcycle rallies throughout the state. With a set list that includes tunes from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eagles, Marshal Tucker Band, Allman Brothers, Charlie Daniels, David Allan Coe, and a strong selection of original tunes from their debut CD, “One Last Shot”, Whiskey D. carries the no nonsense southern feel with 100% kickass Texas Attitude thrown in for good measure. Whiskey D. is comprised of five seasoned veterans… JR on lead guitar; Ray on lead, rhythm, and slide guitar; Joey on bass; Rene on drums; and Rock-n-Roll James on lead vocals. Whiskey D. has grown a steady fan base by blowing away audiences all over Texas with their high energy no holds barred performances that need to be seen to be believed, including stints with some high profile heavy duty artists in the Texas music genre. Whiskey D. has performed with Mark Chesnutt, Kevin Fowler, LA Guns, Pat Green, Randy Rogers Band, Cody Canada, Jesse Dayton, Stoney LaRue, The Legendary Texas Tornados, and The Spazmatics. They are currently supporting their album “One Last Shot” that has been receiving rave reviews from everyone that gives it a listen. Whiskey D. is also the most aggressive marketing band in Texas, incorporating promotional tools like their long running ads in Thunder Roads Texas, their marketing and promotional aggressiveness reaches over a million people every week and grows daily. They also take pride in aggressively promoting every event and performance that they are a part of on their website www.whiskeydband.com and Facebook fan pages. The band. is hands down one of the most entertaining, unique, and aggressive marketing bands in Texas. They are a “must see live” band. We spoke with singer Rock-n-Roll James for this exclusive Thunder Roads Texas interviewTRT: First of all James, thanks for being a part of our Thunder Roads Texas family this past year. How did it work out for Whiskey D. with Thunder Roads Texas in 2014? RRJ: It was a really good year for us and our promotions with Thunder Roads Texas was phenomenal as far as getting the word out about Whiskey D. We performed in Bandera twice last year at Thunder in The Hill Country and Rumble on The River Rally. Bikers from all over Texas that attended totally embraced our band. We kept them there all night long. According to the organizers, Whiskey D. broke the attendance record. We had a blast. We also performed at many other events with the same response and results. 2014 was a very good year for us. Thank you Thunder Roads Texas!TRT: How Did you find out about Thunder Roads Texas? RRJ--Well I’ve been a Harley rider for many years and I am a proud owner of a 2014 Harley Street Glide and a 2007 Heritage Softail Deluxe Classic that I customized Whiskey D. style. I have been reading and collecting Thunder Roads Texas magazines since I first picked it up at our local Harley-Davidson dealership. I have always loved riding and going to rallies so when Whiskey D. was born I automatically thought

“Thunder Roads Texas” for our promotional. Hell Yeah! TRT: What’s your favorite song to play? RRJ: Our favorite Whiskey D. original to perform is “M.I.L.F.” people that see us for the first time don’t know what to expect when we announce the title. The look on their faces when they realize what it stands for is priceless. Our favorite cover to perform has to be Freebird from Lynyrd Skynyrd dedicated to all our veterans and military. It’s always our closer and we bring out the flags which creates a huge pop from the audiences. Fans love our rendition of David Allan Coe’s “The Ride” as wellTRT: What are your favorite and least favorite venues?RRJ: Actually all the venues are awesome to us we love playing anywhere and everywhere. Give us a stage and we’re on!

TRT: What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? RRJ: They vary. “The Score” is an epic song about a father avenging his daughters rape by taking the law into his own hands. “Senior Party” is a song I wrote about our high school years and the senior parties we had back then. Not a worry in life. Those were good times. “One Last Shot” is about how when we are young and have a certain dream we want to reach and then life gets in the way… family, kids, work, and lifestyles and that dream gets put on the backburner. Time passes, the kids grow up, and so do we. The kids move on; you still have that dream and you decide you want to give it “One Last Shot”. “Mama’s Prayers” is a song I wrote about my mom and how she never stopped praying for me while I was going through my cocaine addiction and “M.I.L.F.” well… I think you can figure that one out!

TRT: How can fans gain access to your music? RRJ: Our music is available on all the major free streaming services like Spotify, Muve Music, and Rhapsody. It’s also available for download on iTunes, Google Play, and Google Mp3. The nucleus of all that is Whiskey D. is our website www.whiskeydband.com you can email us or call/text us at 956.358.3420 if you are interested in booking Whiskey D. We also constantly update our Facebook fan page. TRT: What are your plans for 2015?RRJ: To play as many motorcycle rallies in Texas as possible. We love the atmosphere of loud pipes, cold beer, and fine hot, biker women. I can safely say we are the perfect band to entertain a rally full of bikers, as well as wanna-be-bikers. Just ask anyone that has seen Whiskey D. and most of them will probably

Old cowboys and bikers have plenty in common, they’ve been down some long winding roads.

As happy alone as they are in a crowd and they live by a similar code.

When I see an old gray beard with gear on his bike he’s travelin’ but knows not to where.

When he gets there he’ll fit with the rest of the world and he’ll know where he’s goin’ when he’s there.

That cowboy who rides on the prairie alone has a mission in life as well.

His highway’s a path and his pony is steady as they travel the rocky old trail.

Now, a biker, his horse may be leather and steel but he grooms it and give it the care

That a cowboy must have for his faithful ol’ pony you see, they are both yet a pair.

And should these two meet by some strange circumstance I’m sure they’ll have plnty to say

Tellin’ tales of their travels, of the storms they have seen and the beautiful sights ‘lon the way.

I have total respect for each of these two and I’m proud to be part of it all

As I brush my old pony, bed him down for the night with my Harley parked next to his stall.

agree. We’ve been known to play two-and-a-half to three hours nonstop. We love what we do and we want do it in front of as many people as possible. We are also planning to record our second album in 2015. It’s going to get bigger. We’re from Texas and everything in Texas is bigger!! Hell Yeah.TRT: Is there anyone you’d like to acknowledge for supporting Whiskey D.? RRJ: We would definitely like to thank our sponsors that have really helped us survive; the fans; and the festival organizers and promoters that have given Whiskey D. a chance. Fans buy our t-shirts and Facebook our stuff and attend our shows. On the flipside, the promoters book us. They have embraced our songs and appreciate our hard work and performances. We would also like to thank Thunder Roads Texas for this amazing opportunity. Whiskey D. on the January cover is a kick ass way to start off 2015!

New Year’s Resolutions You Have No Chance Keeping • When I hear a funny joke I will not reply,

“LOL, LMAO, or ROTFLMAO!” • Start using Facebook for something other

than Farmville and stupid quizzes • I will try to figure out why I “really” need 5

Facebook accounts. • I resolve to work with neglected children...

my own. • Lose 20 pounds by going to the gym! • I will spend less than five hour a day on the

Internet. • I will stop tagging pictures of myself in

pictures even when I’m not in them • I will think of a password other than

“password”

As in many homes on New Year’s Day, Janet and Nigel, a happily married couple, faced the annual conflict of which was more important: the football match on television, or the lunch itself. Hoping to keep the peace Nigel ate lunch with the rest of the family, and even lingered for some pleasant after-lunch chat before retiring to the lounge to turn on the television. Some minutes later, Janet looked in to see how he was and graciously even bought a cold beer

for Nigel. She smiled, kissed him on the cheek and asked what the score was. Nigel told her it was half time and that the score was still 0-0. “See?” Janet said happily, “You didn’t miss a thing.”

You’re probably an EXTREME Redneck if…• You think Dom Perignon is a Mafia leader.• Your wife’s hairdo was once ruined by a

ceiling fan.• The Halloween pumpkin on your porch has

more teeth than your spouse.• You have to go outside to get something

from the fridge.• Your Junior Prom offered day care.• One or more of your kids was born on a pool

table.

Ten Indications of a New Year Hangover1. You get it into your head that chirping

birds are the Devil’s pets. 2. Trying to gain control of the situation, you

continue to tell your room to “Stay still.” 3. Looking at yourself in the mirror induces

the same reaction as drinking a glass of fresh paint.

4. The bathroom reminds you of the fairground cry, “Step right up and give it whirl!”

5. You’d rather chew tacks than be exposed

to sunlight. 6. You set aside an entire afternoon to

spend some quality time with your toilet. 7. You replace the traditional praying on

your knees with the more feasible praying in a fetal position.

8. Your catch phrase is, “Never again.” 9. You could purchase a new fridge on

the proceeds from recycling the bottles around your bed.

10. Your new response to “Good morning,” is “Be quiet!”

During a recent password audit by a company, it was found that an employee was using the following password:”MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento” When asked why she had such a long password, she rolled her eyes and said: ”Hello! It has to be at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital.”

Thunder Roads Texas wishes you all a very Happy

New Year... May all your resolutions come true!
