VICSON OFF AND RUNNING TO THE NATIONAL
CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SYDNEY A�er winning his way through the District Athle�cs, Divisional Qualifica�ons, Regional
Championships and finally the Victorian State Championships Vicson is now officially the
Victorian 200m 11yr Boys State Champion. It has been 8
years since TPS had a state champion and this is a
significant achievement. Well done Vicson on your
achievement, sportsmanship and respect for other
athletes.
Vicson has been selected in the Victorian State Schools
Athle�c Team to compete at Sydney’s Homebush
Olympic stadium from November 25th to November 29
th.
At the Na�onal Championships, Vicson will be
represen�ng Victoria and Thomastown PS in a number
of events. To compete at the Na�onal Championships
compe�tors are required to pay for accommoda�on,
transport and uniforms. As a school community we
would like to support Vicson in his quest to take his place at the Na�onal Championships.
To help Vicson make it to Sydney we have organised a number of fundraising events.
Some of the ac�vi�es are listed below.
• Out of Uniform Day on Wednesday 9th of November….Gold Coin dona�on
• Teacher morning tea
• Parents can purchase $2 raffle �ckets from the office. The raffle has been organised
by State School Sports Victoria. All money
helps to send athletes to the Na�onal
Championships. The prizes are…

3rd: LG 139cm Curved 3D Smart TV
4th: Yamaha Home Entertainment Package

Excellence in P.E. Award:
Congratulations everyone on a great week in PE.
For the last week of scores by Mark, there
were a record five grades who received the
highest score. These grades were: Grades
Prep V, 1/2W, 4/5B, 5/6S and 5/6T. The
names of these grades were placed in a hat and
a winner was selected.
The winner was: 5/6S
Congratulations 5/6S ! Well done!
Netball Clinics (Grades 1 – 6; Two
week program)
Next week will be the start of a two week
program focussing on the basic skills required
for netball. An expert in netball will be
delivering a two-week program as part of a
grant we received late last term.
Other News:
After competing in the State Athletics
Championships on Monday, 24th of
October, we are proud to announce that,
after winning his 200m event, Vicson
Jackley will be representing our State in
the 100m, 200m and relay at the
Nationals. The Nationals are being held
from the 25th – 29th of November.
What a brilliant effort - congratulations

Change to School Uniform Supplier As you all know, Northern Regional Uniforms will be the supplier of TPS uniforms as of Monday 19th September 2016. This
means that you will no longer be able to purchase school uniform at the school.
You will now be able to purchase TPS uniform in the following ways:
• At the Northern Regional Shop
Shop 21
8 Oleander Drive
South Morang
• By ordering over the phone (9436 4005) and paying by credit card
• Online with your credit card at www.agsprints.com.au (This service will not be
available until 1st October 2016)
Orders placed over the phone or online will be delivered to Thomastown Primary School so that it will be easier for you to collect
your order.
