HISTORY
THOMAS SABO is founded by Thomas Sabo.
Up to the end of the 1980s, THOMAS SABO develops into one of the most successful brands for innovative silver jewellery within the German-speaking world. In the early-1990s, the company repositions itself, emerging with an expanded team of designers and a sophisticated brand concept. From this time onwards, THOMAS SABO is
known for its Sterling Silver collection.
The first exclusive THOMAS SABO stand-alone shop
opens in Frankfurt. Over the following years, numerous stand-alone shops are opened in top locations and shop-in-shops in leading department stores throughout the world.
Susanne Kölbli becomes
Creative Director at THOMAS SABO. Since then, the qualified graphic designer has been decisively shaping the aesthetic of the brand with her unique style, wealth of ideas and her sensitivity for trends.
The introduction of the
THOMAS SABO Charm Club is an overwhelming success. The passion among customers for collecting the filigree Charms is unbroken to this very day.
The Rebel at heart product
range is launched, aimed at a male target group with numerous expressive items of jewellery. The collection is characterised by designs crafted from blackened 925 Sterling silver, which play with masculine materials such as leather and black zirconia.

The brand expands its portfolio with the launch of
the Watches collection, which perfectly reflects the DNA of THOMAS SABO and the existing jewellery collections
For the very first time, THOMAS SABO
employs top stars such as Poppy Delevingne and David Garrett for its international advertising campaign. The two brand ambassadors represent the two product ranges in the Sterling Silver collection – Glam & Soul (ladies) and Rebel at heart (men).
The Karma Beads jewellery range, comprising 72 filigree beads and the ‚Wheel of Karma‘ as the key piece, is launched. In line with the three jewellery ranges in the Sterling Silver
collection, top model Georgia May Jagger, Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg and star violinist David
Garrett will be representing the
various facets of the jewellery from this time on.
THOMAS SABO breaks new ground in design and launches
items of jewellery with 18k yellow and rose gold plating for the very first time.
THOMAS SABO is going to inaugurate the new international headquarters, the
state-of-the-art building on ‘Silberstraße 1‘ (Silver Street)
