Monday, November 18 Open Registration for Spring 2014 Begins – In-Person or Online. It also begins for SCCC Albany.

Board of Trustees Meeting – 5:30 p.m., Lally Mohawk Room.

Slow Food Club – 11:45 a.m., Culinary Seminar Room, Elston 100. Open to all SCCC students.

Science Club – 11:30 a.m., Elston 245. Professor Renato V. Tameta, Advisor. E-mail: [email protected]. Open to all students.

Rhythms Literary Club – 11:25 a.m., Elston 420. Rhythms is SCCC’s student-run literary club. The group’s primary function is to produce an annual magazine of literature (short stories, plays, poems, songs, essays, etc.) and artwork (drawings, photographs, etc.), created by SCCC students, faculty and staff. The group also sponsors coffee-houses, readings, and other literary events. All students are welcome.

Tuesday, November 19 Last Day to Withdraw From a Fall Class – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Elston 212.

Fall PTK Induction Ceremony – 6 p.m., Van Curler Room.

Wednesday, November 20 Smart Money Skills for College Students – 11:30 a.m., Elston 328. With Judy Fruiterman. Students will be introduced to Cash Course, a program that will help with money skills for now and for the future.

Student Volunteer Organization Weekly Meeting – 11:20 a.m., Elston 236. The goal of the Student Volunteer Organization (SVO) is to connect the students with the community for the purpose of learning about the community and serving the needs of the people. All students welcomed.

Starring SCCC. Working with Time Warner Cable, the SCCC Communications Office is executing a new TV ad campaign in time for Spring enrollment. The “I Chose SCCC” campaign will feature

about a dozen current students from every academic division. Get a sneak peek at the format of the campaign by clicking on the image above. For the past three years, SCCC has conducted an extensive Student Media Use Survey to gauge the media tastes of students and where ads may

best reach them. Past TV campaigns have resulted in a reported high visibility amongst

students. SCCC spots aired 11,000 times during the 2012-13 academic year on the channels that students watch the most. Be on the lookout for the new spots starting this week.

Super Weekend. The SCCC Science Club and Professors Renato Tameta (club advisor) and Tania Cabrera (Nanotechnology) participated in miSci’s Super Science Weekend November 9th at

From Martha Asselin, Vice President of Student Affairs: “SCCC Faculty and Staff are invited to watch the Schenectady Parade along with the Student Affairs Division on Saturday, November 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Center City. RSVP to [email protected] or x1336 by Wed., Nov. 20. Please arrive between 4 to 5 p.m. – promptly at 5 p.m. the elevator will shut down. The outside balcony will be utilized by parade organizers to house the large sound system needed for the event; however, we can watch the parade from the inside window.” Check out SCCC’s new Wellness and Support Services site! Under the direction of Dr. Ellen C. Wertlieb, Wellness and Support Services now includes ADA Transition Services, Counseling, Student Activities and the Student Veterans Office and will host a number of Wellness programs each semester.
