Are You Ready to Shine? The SCCC Theatre program is holding auditions for “Woyzeck” by Georg Büchner. In

this drama, Franz Woyzeck is a hapless, hopeless soldier, alone and powerless in society, assaulted from all sides by forces he cannot control. Abused and oppressed, both physically and psychologically by commanding

officers, doctors and his unfaithful common-law wife, Marie, Woyzeck struggles to hold on to his humanity and his fragile sense of reality. The auditions will be held December 2 and 3 at 6:30 p.m. with call-backs on

December 4 at 6:30 p.m. in Proctors Hearst Education Center (downstairs by the ticket office). Audition packets (which include the script) are available both at the front desk of the SCCC Library and in Elston Hall,

Rm 402. You must read the play prior to auditions. Come dressed for light movement and be prepared to read selections from the script. Auditions are open to all SCCC students and faculty. Contact Jonathan Beller at

[email protected] for more information.
