Summer Sunday School Classes Missionary Special

Overall, I've been amazed how the Lord has sustained our little church plant.  Fountain City Church is still alive and kicking.  As I talk with church planting friends and coaches across the country, I've begun to see just how gracious God has been to FCC this year, especially through Covid. We certainly aren't growing numerically.  Quite the opposite.  We've lost 20% of our congregation due to "Covid relocations" since March, a couple more families moved on because of a felt need for services and community that a larger church can provide.  But, despite all that, our remaining congregation has grown tighter, more focused, and more convinced that God has called us together for a purpose.  We still have a strong team (30+ adults and 20 kids), a strong vision, and healthy finances.  So praise the Lord!

However, we have several major needs.  Here are ways we would love you all to pray for us:

Meeting Space:  Fountain City had been meeting at Overland Park Elementary.  Our lease agreement was canceled in March due to Covid, and we won't be allowed back in until September at the earliest.  We

James & Lindsey Cottier | FCC

have a temporary solution, but are in need of something longer term (6-12 months) ASAP.  Our temporary solution ends August 12.

Missional Engagement:  It has taken us a while to get our "outreach legs" under us as a church, but we've taken major strides since March.  Please pray for courage, endurance and fruit as we begin to ramp up our evangelism efforts soon. (I'll be excited to share more in a couple months!)

Family:  I would also love prayer for our family.  Like all families, Covid has made life tougher than usual, and our kids (Libby 7, Henry 5, Annie 4) are feeling that.  Also, there's always the challenge of raising kids as pastor kids.  Please pray for sustaining needs for our family: patience with instability; hope when things are always changing and uncertain; material/financial resources as the economy tightens and financial support tends to drop.
