ST. PETER PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the believers of St. Peter Parish, having our beginnings as the earliest Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of New Orleans on the Northshore, in response to God's call, come together:
to love God and one another to worship as a faith community to be God's hands, heart and mind and to provide for our community's spiritual and
physical needs
In doing this, we glorify God and help realize His reign on earth. While rejoicing in the experience of our pilgrimage, we must ever keep in mind our ultimate destination through our faithful stewardship of time, talent and treasure. Called to be a prayerful and hospitable Catholic family of living faith, we welcome and invite all people to share in our unique gifts of the Holy Spirit.

COMING SOON
Coming soon to St. Peter Parish, the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and the world over, Our Holy Father has announced an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy beginning on December 8th, The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Stay tuned to our bulletin for all information about the upcoming events the Holy Father has scheduled to prepare for this holy year, so we can experience it in its fullness of graces as individuals and as a family, united as one in Christ.
“We will entrust the life of the Church, all humanity, and the entire cosmos to the Lordship of Christ, asking Him to pour out His mercy upon us like the morning dew, so that everyone may work together to build a brighter future. How much I desire that the year to come will be steeped in mercy, so that we can go out to every man and woman, bringing the goodness and tenderness of God! May the balm of mercy reach everyone, both believers and those far
away, as a sign that the Kingdom of God is already present in their midst!” Pope Francis Bull of Indiction for the Jubilee of Mercy
Join us! Pro-Life at St. Peter Parish
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” Jeremiah 1:5
The Pro-Life Ministry at St. Peter Parish needs HELP! Will you please consider being a part of this critical ministry? There are many different ways you can help! Maybe your time commitment allows you to coordinate a caravan to Louisiana March for Life in Baton Rouge, attend a Sunday Life Chain in Slidell, or a Sidewalk Prayer Protest in Metairie. Perhaps you are good with computers, and you can set up bulletin announcements for Spiritual Adoption, or send monthly email reminders asking parish-ioners to fast and pray for an end to abortion. Whatever your skills are, and whatever your time allowance is, we have a spot for YOU! We are having a volunteer gathering on Tuesday, November 17th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Upper Room, 318 S. Jefferson Ave., to discuss all the various ways you can be a part of this critical ministry. Hope to see you there!
A Friendly Reminder!! Our Adoration Chapel will be open during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, November 26th. Please help us by ensuring your Adoration Hour is covered by a substitute if you will be out of town. All praise and thanksgiving for our faithful adorers at the St. Peter Adoration Chapel! May Jesus bless you and yours abundantly!!!

Faith Fact
The Solemnity of Christ the King
As we prepare to celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King next weekend, this week’s Faith Fact explains the reason the solemnity was established and discusses the need for Christians today to be obedient to the Kingship of Christ. Copies are available in the back of church and on our parish and school websites.
Next week’s Collection for the Catholic Campaign for Hu-man Development (CCHD) needs your help. CCHD was founded to end the cycle of poverty in the United States by funding organizations that help people help themselves. Locally, CCHD supports the New Orleans Master Craftsman’s Guild in Corpus Christi-Epiphany Parish in New Orleans. Skilled tradesmen and craftsmen are training young men in historic trades of masonry, ironworking and plastering. Other funded projects address ways to reduce incarceration rates and improve the juvenile justice system. Your contribution will defend human dignity and help those living on the margins of our society. Please give to the CCHD Collection.

A Stewardship Moment
Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time: November 15, 2015
For the weekend of November 14/15, 2015 Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time How would you spend your day if you knew it was the last day you would spend on earth? Undoubtedly, it would not be a normal day. The point of today’s Gospel reading is that the end-time is always immi-nent. The good steward remains prayerfully alert, ready to give an accounting; and living each day in the awareness of the coming judgment and salvation. How do we exercise stewardship over our daily lives? Are we prepared to give an accounting? How will we allow Christ to work in and through us to prepare for the reconciliation of the heavens and the earth?

Quotes from Principal Michael Kraus’ weekly newsletter: November 4, 2015
Dear St. Peter Families,
….I am also asking for your assistance with our afternoons, as we are re-evaluating our walker dismissal. Unfortunately, we have had problems throughout this first quarter with walker being used by too many students to walk to cars and quickly jump ahead of carline. As I have commu-nicated before, this has caused difficulties with our neighbors as cars have pulled up and blocked
streets and driveways. Walker must be used for students in the neighborhood. Our dismissal procedures are in place with safety in mind first, and time/efficiency second. This is the reason we ask parents as a general rule not to walk up to get children out of afternoon carline. Our duty teachers are not in a position to monitor which adults are picking up which kids. While most people obviously do not enjoy carline, we do move 800 students from our campus in 30 minutes. It is efficient, and it works the safest when we all follow the procedures smoothly. As we re-evaluate walker, please assist us and have your children dismiss appropriately by bus, carline or walker.
We have a very exciting few weeks ahead, and we look forward to seeing you around campus. Thanks to all of our parent volunteers. You help make this school incredible.
God alone, Michael Kraus

Serving the Residents of the West 30’s at the Blue Stand Every Thursday: Noon Lunch 4:30 PM Dinner
Years ago, Sr. Theresa Berlin began opening the door to the Blue Stand each Thursday to build relationships and share the family meal with the residents of the Covington neighborhood. Residents gather there to pray, study, and enjoy fellowship. Northshore families began assisting Sr. Theresa in providing meals for the Blue Stand in the fall of 2012 and “Mary’s Family Meal Ministry” was born. Lunch serves 10 to 12 people and dinner serves 15 to 20 people. Please prayerfully consider providing a meal once in a while or even once a month!
