SUNDAY, MARCH 14: SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR URGENT REPAIRS AT SISTERS CONVENT

The feminine branch of the Institute, the Sisters Ador-ers of the Royal Heart of Jesus, have been given a large convent building which is in need of extensive repair. Located near Florence, Italy, just a few miles from the Institute’s international seminary and Motherhouse, this once abandoned convent building is

now subject to major roof leaks. In addition, a great number of the windows and window frames are bro-ken and in urgent need of repair. The Sisters are in great need of our financial support so that they can continue their life of sacrifice and prayer which they offer up for all of the faithful in the Institute’s apostolates throughout the world. Sisters who are in formation at this convent will one day go out to found convents located near churches of the Institute across America and the world. On Laetare Sun-day, March 14, a collection will be taken up for the urgent repairs necessary for the convent. May God bless you for your generosity!

MONTH OF SAINT JOSEPH

O Blessed Joseph, thou gavest thy last breath in the loving embrace of Jesus and Mary. When the seal of death shall close my life, come with Jesus and Mary to aid me. Obtain for me this solace for that hour - to die with their holy arms around me. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I commend my soul, living and dying, into thy sacred arms. Amen.

LIFE OF SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS

St. Thomas Aquinas was born about the year 1225. At the early age of five Thomas was sent to school at the Benedictine Monastery of Monte Cassino. The early Benedictine training left Thomas with a life-long devotion to the Liturgy. After receiving the Dominican habit in 1244, St. Thomas began to attend the lectures in theology of St. Albert the Great at the University of Paris and afterwards in Cologne. He was engaged in teaching in 1250. This same year marks his ordination to the priesthood. St. Thomas was called to Rome in 1259, and for nine busy years was teaching, lecturing, and writing as the theologian of the Papal Court. Thomas remained in Paris for three years, from 1269 to 1272, in the full maturity of his powers and the manifold outpourings of his genius. He died on March 7, 1274, while on his way to attend the Council of Lyons. St. Thomas was canonized in 1323. St. Pius proclaimed him a Doctor of the Universal Church in 1567.

HOLY INFANT KING NOVENA

NOVENA PRAYER TO THE HOLY INFANT KING

O Divine Infant Jesus, I have recourse to Thee. Please, through Thy Blessed Mother, assist me in this necessity (mention intention here), because I firmly believe that Thy

Divinity can help me. I hope with confidence to obtain thy holy grace. I love Thee with all my heart and with all the strength of my soul. I repent sincerely of my sins and I beg Thee, O Good Jesus, to grant me the strength to triumph over them. I resolve never more to offend Thee and I come to offer myself to Thee with the intention of enduring everything rather than to displease Thee. Henceforth, I desire to serve Thee with fidelity and, for the love of Thee, O Divine Infant, I will love my neighbor as myself. All powerful Infant, O Jesus, I implore Thee again, assist me in this need. Grant me the grace of possessing Thee eternally with Mary and Joseph and of adoring Thee with the angels in the heavenly court. Amen.
