Third Sunday of Lent – March 24, 2019 Lenten Schedule
We invite you to join our Stations of the Cross, which will be held every Friday evening at 7:00 PM, except April 5th which is First Friday. April 5th Stations of the Cross will start after 7 PM mass. Following is the schedule with the hosting ministry and our other Lenten events:
3/28 Spanish Worship Night in Church @ 7 PM
3/29 Chinese Mass-Cantonese
4/3 Senior’s Retreat—Hall @ 10 AM
4/4 Spanish Retreat & Healing Mass—Church @ 6 PM 4/5 11:30 Mass Team-will begin after the 7 PM First Friday mass
4/8-4/9 English Retreat—Church @ 7 PM
4/10 Penance Service
4/12 Passion Play - Religious Ed. Shadow performance
4/13 Chinese Retreat—Hall– 9AM
4/15 Chrism Mass at Cathedral @ 7PM
4/19 Passion Play- Following 3 PM Good Friday Services
Senior Lenten Retreat Wednesday, April 3rd
In order to accommodate our senior parishioners we have planned a short Lenten retreat on Wednesday, April 3rd at 10 AM in the parish hall. Deacon Sanchez will lead us in meditation, rosary, and if time permits we will play a trivia game about the meaning of lent. A simple luncheon will be provided; $5.00 donation will be appreciated.
Catholic Relief Services Church in Latin America
Second Collection March 30th & 31st
Next week, we will take up the Collection for the Church in Latin America. For many in Latin America and the Caribbean, a rising secular culture, difficult rural terrain, and a shortage of ministers present obstacles to practicing the faith. Your support to the collection provides lay leadership training, catechesis, priestly and religious formation, and oth-er programs to share our faith with those who long to hear the Good News of Christ. Spanish Worship Night Thursday, March 28

In Memory of Angie Hernandez…
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that
one of our parish’s long time parishioners; Angelina (Angie) Hernandez joined our Lord in eternal peace on Monday, March 18, 2019. Angie died at home with her family in attendance. Angie and her husband, Ernie joined our parish in the 60’s. Angie was very generous in sharing her talents with our parish. She served in many ministries and organizations, including but not lim-ited to: President of the Guadalupanos, involved STA school parent and grand-parent, liturgy minister and fund raising. For her contribution to our parish, she was honored with the Catholic Charities Volunteer Recognition Award in 2007. Angie was a lady with a great devotion for the church. We will miss Angie and her generous heart of gold. Thank you Hernandez family for sharing this special person with our parish. Following is the schedule for Angie’s services; both will be held here at St. Thomas Aquinas:
Vigil Service: Wednesday, 3/27– 7 PM
Funeral Mass– Thursday, 3/28—1 PM Burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery

School News
Join Us for Stations of the Cross Join STA School for Stations of the Cross on the following Fridays during Lent: 3/29, and 4/12. Stations will begin at 2 PM in the Church. We hope to see many of our amazing parishion-ers there.
Enrollment Taking Place Now!
STA School is now beginning enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year! We are enrolling students from TK through 8th grade (ages 4 and up). If you are interested in receiving infor-mation from our school, please fill out an inter-est form, which can be found at all church en-trances, parish office or school office or call (323) 261-6583 during the hours of 8 AM-3:30 PM (Mon-Fri). We are also available to arrange in-person tours during the week. We hope to meet many new interested families.

STA 8th Graders Say Thank You
Our school 8th graders would like to thank everyone who supported their fundraising
sale last weekend. The profit of $624.00 will go towards their 8th grade expenses.
Earth Day Clean –Up Saturday, April 6th
8 AM – Noon
STA is having a four hour Earth Day clean-up for the church and school grounds. With all the recent rains our hillside slopes have grown quite unsightly and need clearance and removal. We have other areas of the church and school grounds that need attention. Dona-tions of water and snacks will be welcomed. Sign-up sheets will be available next weekend. Please plan on joining us.
