How to Teach Thinking Skills Within in the Common Core Bellanca, Fogarty and Pete

Unpack the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in a balanced way, using rich content and rigorous thinking processes. The CCSS thread the skills of literacy and reading, writing, speaking and listening through narrative and informative text. #1 Common Core Balances Narrative Texts and Informational Texts Instead of the imbalance of traditional curriculum, with 90% narrative text in elementary school and 90% informational text in high school, Common Core vigorously includes both kinds of text exemplars across all the grades.
