Meet Martha Baxter We Salute our Veterans! Martha Baxter moved to the Fountains of Franklin in 2013 after her family looked at numerous facilities and fell in love with ours! Martha’s son, Robert, wanted his mother to be near him and his family. Martha was born to Ollie and Edna Briggs of Oak Grove, Louisiana. She had an extremely active childhood with her siblings. four sisters and two brothers, all of whom she was close with. ey were so close that Martha attended Louisiana Tech until she realized that she wanted to be more independent and attend a school without her siblings. After transferring to Conway State Teacher’s College, she decided to attend the University of Central Arkansas, where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. While teaching in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Martha met a tall, dark, and handsome fellow named Frank Baxter, who became her future husband. Frank and Martha were blessed with three sons, John, Mark, and Robert. Frank spent much of his career with General Motors, and Martha decided to be a stay-at-home mom and take care of her family. However, she stayed active in her community by being a valuable member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and garden clubs. Also, she loved to volunteer at hospitals and play bridge with her friends. Eventually, Frank became ill with cancer and died, but Martha’s life is still filled with love and goodwill due to her three sons, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Of course, her family is scattered across the south but everyone stays in close touch with each other. Martha says that she feels that all her dreams and goals have been fulfilled as her children are successful, happy, and have wonderful jobs and loving families. We are very thankful to have Martha as a part of our Fountains’ family! Meet Martha Baxter

We Salute our Veterans!

They were so close that Martha attended Louisiana Tech until she realized that she wanted to be more independent and

Meet Courtney BurrisCourtney Burris, LPN, came to the Fountains through one of our hair stylists Beth Biddle. Courtney had been a customer of Beth’s for years, and she happened to mention her desire to work where she could use her medical knowledge and also continue to go to school to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. The Fountains was a perfect fit! Born and raised in middle Tennessee, Courtney decided to stay and call this area home. She is extremely thankful that her parents live in College Grove, giving her an opportunity to stay close to her family. She is also close to her only sister, who is about to graduate from WKU (Go Big Red!) in December.

Courtney is newly engaged and is planning her wedding for next September at Sanibel Island, Florida. Courtney and her fiancé, Michael, recently bought a house together in Brentwood while Courtney is finishing up her RN degree at MTSU. Even though Courtney is busy with school, wedding planning, and putting finishing touches on her new home, she still finds time to do her favorite activities, which include running and watching movies. The Fountains is very blessed to have her kind attitude and positive perspective. Courtney is excited about her job at the Fountains because it fits into her career plan by giving hands-on care to the residents. She is always learning something new, whether it is about the residents or how to provide better care for them.
