Thesaurus Technology and Management (TEMA) With our Thesaurus Technology and Management (TEMA) we at WTI-Frankfurt eG provide you with the most extensive and best structured collection of current terminology regarding technology and product-oriented management for the German and English language. Traditionally, Thesauri allow for a more efficient research within the large pool of information provided by qualified information providers and companies. The display of relevant search terms and subordinated as well as superior terminology already simplifies your access to the search of information. Synonyms logged in the background expand and complete your search. Additionally, a Thesaurus offers an added value by providing you with references and indicating terms more or less related to your research topic. Considering the increasing flood of information companies have to deal with nowadays, the usage of clearly structured terminologies plays a more and more important role by allowing an unified understanding of terms and relations in complex information structures such as databases, information management and document management systems. At the same time they build the basis of smooth integrations of internal and external information. Our Thesaurus TEMA covers the following fields and is applied in the indexing of our WTI-professional information databases:

- Engineering and Plant Construction - Manufacturing technology - Material engineering - Electric engineering and Electronics - Energy engineering - Metrology, test and control engineering - Textile technology - Environment engineering - Information and communication technology - Management and company organization - Medical engineering - Mining

The terminology included in our Thesaurus TEMA covers ca. 56,000 concepts (term families) with approximately 182,000 terms (so-called descriptors) in German and English. The Thesaurus TEMA is connected to a classification system also created by us. It allows filtering of a larger subset of information related to a specific field of our WTI databases. Currently, we are in the process of evolving our Thesaurus TEMA into a specialized ontology for Technology and Engineering.
