Contributors to
MIMO thesaurus
1/ Create a multilingual thesaurus 2/ Add one of the thesaurus term into each of the records 3/ Use the thesaurus to build the index used during the search request 4/ Use the thesaurus to build a multilingual interface (demo)
Contributors to
Creation of a multilingual dictionnary 1/ Structure: - 3 levels (family, group and class of instrument) Thesaurus - Duplicate this thesaurus for each language - => 1 « pivot » thesaurus + 6 language specific 2/ Start with one or two languages using Excel - Ask every participant to send terms proposals - Manually de-duplicate 3/ Choose or develop a vocabulary management tool
Day to day management
• A small number of persons has the overall responsibility of the thesaurus
• One responsible (translator) per language. • All requests for new terms are sent to the
responsibles for validation. • When new terms are added or structural
modification occurs, translators are being informed and they use the tool fot their translation.
• As of today, around 4000 terms.
